An act of Random Kindness from least expected people

in #hiveph5 years ago

I was in hurry last Monday doing some errands. As I step down the tricycle the rain poured angrily. But an old lady offered help of casting me under her umbrella until I am able to reach a nearby cafe. All I can shout is "thank you nay" as she walks away not even knowing her name. She saved me from getting totally wet.

I started drying myself with my face towel at the front door of the cafe while still in mixed emotion-- being disgusted by the rain and being overwhelmed with the kind gesture I received. As soon as I am done, I went inside the establishment for it is a short cut to my supposed destination. I just need to get to the other door. Upon going out, and of all the people inside the cafe, a guy hurriedly passed by my left side overtaking me. To my surprise, it was man with Down's Syndrome opening the door for me wearing the sweetest smile ever. He was so quick to that act of kindness surpassing all other people inside who acted to do the same. I can't stop saying thank you and we exchanged smiles and bows.

I want to rant because of the sudden outpouring of the rain ruining my outfit and confidence. However, my disappoinment melted after the encounter with those two angels.

Life will always throw stones at us, breaking us, shaking us and making us stop believing. Yet, life knows also the way to balance it.

We do have a great God, synchronizing everything so we can still find ways to have courage, to persevere and most of all to believe. There is goodness in humanity.

Truly an act of random kindness can change someone's day. And, as a title of a movie once said, "Let's pay it forward"
