As the steem churns,...

Man, those folks are something.

If the wheels haven't come off, it's not for lack of trying.

Now they froze the stake of folks that steem wouldn't exist without.
Without @blocktrades enabling easy steem conversions most of us would have given up long ago.
Who plays this game for free?

The nice thing about hive is that we will now get more say in matters than we did on steem.
@ned ruled that roost, and now Justin rules it from behind the curtain.

However, steem had more problems than just stinc.
It had a circle of accounts that sucked up the majority of the pool, day after day.
Some kept it for themselves, some tried spreading the love, but only to those accounts meeting with their approval.
If you weren't a sycophant of the power players you could forget getting a vote.

Those people are now ruling on hive.
They eat the majority of the pool, and thereby a controlling interest in the platform.

I don't think outsiders will like the look of that.
Time will tell us.

Get your meme on, dear reader.
They are acceptable content, now.
At least, they are outside the old aristocracy.

Sort:

Maybe we can actually work out DPOS.

Mr. Tron has shown that you just have to buy all the servers.
But, that is just a single inevitability, when stake can be made overwhelmingly.

i would like to see HIVE try to actually get that curve that was shown in the STEEM white paper four years ago. You know, the one with the long tail.
We never had anything close to that.

Well, here is for trying something different.

I'm in.
It would be great if the median could be 1stu.
It was headed there, but no cigar.

Hive will be what we make of it, if the rich guys let us.
And, the lemmings stop voting posts with more than the median payout, for sure by the time it reaches average.
To vote otherwise is to cut your own throat.

The HIVE/STEEM schism shows that world how easy it is for the people who control a blockchain to disenfranchise the people they don't like.

I guess we can add a new term to our lexicon. The term "forked up" means being cut off with a software fork. Usages are : "I was just soft-forked by the blockchain."

or,

"Man I was really hard-forked last month."

Them crooks stole all muh free munies,...

It was forked up!

I've not been here long, was on Steem for a short while and basically saw a mass of "jump ship" posts for HIVE, I don't regret it seeing as the currency went way down and it is now pretty difficult to trade the Steem but yeah, weird to see so much change in the like 1 month I've been here that's for sure!

Maybe we shouldn't have poked them with that stick?
