Hello cybernaut, the year has begun, and I hope you are full of goals and a lot of energy for that. For my part, all good, I started with the desire to move forward, and try not to look back so much. 2024 was full of laziness, which I must change for more productive things, like for example, "hive". So, I hope this year will be yours, and also mine.
I particularly like disturbing games, those, where the mind is exposed to the risk of falling into confusion. In 2019 a term called "backrooms", appeared, and subsequently went on to become one of the most famous Creepypasta so far. In short, it's about being in huge maze-like places. The goal of backrooms is to confuse and confuse the mind, after observing similar patterns over and over again.
I like the concept, I find it very interesting, and quite complex the theme of the locations.
In Roblox, I am playing one, which I consider very good. The mechanics of these games is always the same, and practically is: wander through the maze while looking for something to help us out of it. Surely you recognize the yellow place in the image, because that place is iconic when talking about the subject. It is known as "level 0, and it was the first one that was talked about.
The origin of this topic begins in the page 4chan, where someone discloses the meaning of the backrooms describing this yellow place as an example. Apparently, to get to these places, you have to have some interaction with a "reality glitch" and thus, be transported to these worlds. Furthermore, whoever discloses this, mentions that in these places there are also monsters...
The concept is quite good, it's like living an eternal déjà vu... This whole lore caught on right away and quickly became popular.
Level 0 is made up of cubicle after cubicle and is very confusing. This one is characterized by being "wet" because of the carpet; also by being yellow; and by having flashing lights. After this (the first backroom), others appeared that also became very popular, "like the one with the swimming pools".
These places would drive anyone crazy, especially if you are weak-minded. Being locked in a maze and watching the same thing repeatedly without rest must be tough. Not all levels have monsters, but some simply consist of blowing your brain causing an incredible schizophrenia in it. Let's see, let's imagine.. <<you're in one (you had a glitch with reality), and you only see corridors and offices around you. You walk 2 hours straight and fall into the conclusion that you are in a maze, but you don't know how big it is. "According to the creator: [six hundred million square miles]", But you don't know. You walk and out of nowhere you start hearing things (footsteps, whispers, you think you've seen something), and all that distresses your head, causing madness, haha. To live like that would be an ordeal>>.
The game I am currently testing, has many levels [about 20], it is true that some feel more relaxing than others, especially those where there is water. In this world I was walking for a long time, I only saw pools and stairs. The white also provoked tranquility. For some reason, I knew there were no monsters, as it seemed like a place of peace. Further on, after walking, I saw a plank path and to cross it I had to walk on it, and it broke....
I fell into another place with water, but this one was not quiet, not at all. Now the walls were dark and the natural light was gone, I just walked among murky water and neon lights. "Even though all backrooms are a prison, there are some where you can feel more freedom than others.
I walked through the black water until I found the exit, but they were closed. To open them, I had to find 3 valves, so I could get out. The problem was that this time I was not alone, now I had to watch my back, because in these waters there was a monster...
Although I knew there was a monster, I didn't give it much importance. So I walked around unconcerned and in one of those moments, I saw him. He ran after me and since I was very slow he caught me.... (I wanted to take a picture of his face, but the bastard wouldn't let me). After trying many times, I was finally able to open the door.
This place seemed better than the previous one, the only strange thing was that there were mannequins. To get out of this one, I had to open a big door, pressing 3 buttons somewhere in the place.
At first it seemed normal to me that there were mannequins, but then I noticed very strange things. I noticed that they were watching me. When I noticed this, it shocked me, but I didn't stop walking anyway....
I had finally pressed all the switches, I was happy to finish the level, and as I got closer to the exit, mannequins appeared where there were none before. Up to the point where there were hundreds of them... At that moment I felt some fear, but not so much because they didn't do anything to me (they just watched), but I still felt a strange sensation hahaha....
