This is how Blockchain games ruin gaming for me.

Blockchain games is the new hype in our generation. It was always been around but I only started playing and using it this year, more precisely this July 2021. I'm still not that knowledgeable about this subject, the only blockchain game I play is Splinterlands and just started, that is why take my words with the grain of salt.

Based on my understanding blockchain games gives you full ownership to your collection. For example, If you bought an NFT's or got an amazing drop like a Legendary Gold Foil in Splinterlands, that card is yours and you can do whatever you want to it. You can sell it to gain a some of money or hoard it because that card is very rare and it will appreciate in value in the coming years. What they do in Splinterlands if they got a card and don't want to sell is to rent it out using a third-party site or the new ingame rental system.

Ok, lets talk about what I mean by the title. Gaming isn't the same when I started playing Spilnterlands. In splinterlands you earn crypto just by playing, it is called DEC or Dark Energy Crystal. In terms of incentivizing the players blockchain games have the edge because it literally give us 'cents' or money when we play. If you want more convincing look at the Axie Infinity community and the hype about it in the Philippines. A lot of people is gaining money just by playing it. It is being considered as a big investment just for playing that game. Just for the low low cost of 200k PHP or approximately 4k USD you can start playing that game in earn some crypto to gain profits in just a month! That is so amazing especially in a third world country like the Philippines to earn that much cash for just playing a game. That is also why "scholarship" is pretty popular in here. Like, scholarship in school this blockchain crypto pays you to play and manage their account and you will get a cut depending on the contract of the manager.

Don't get me wrong I still play games with my friends like VALORANT and other multiplayers games but after playing games that let you earn and has value, it isn't the same anymore. Especially games that have in game market for cosmetics. Cosmetics like skins aren't worth at all after playing Splinterlands and I'll tell you why. Some of the skins in games cannot be sold when you are done with it. Buying cosmetics in game are a waste. But who am I to judge, I also have skins in VALORANT. If you get joy on having in-game cosmetics its ok to buy it but if you think about it you can use that money to invest in blockchain games and who knows maybe earn a few bucks.

In conclusion, playing games isn't the same as it used to be. If their is a choice in playing games that you can earn money and a game that doesn't, I'll gladly choose the first one. I still play games with my friends and some singleplayer games when I'm bored because it is still fun. Blockchain games is the future of gaming. Games that let you earn some money or crypto will be an amazing addition in games today, I hope in the future playing blockchain games will be normal and all of us can earn some cash while enjoying playing games. This is just my opinion for shits and giggles you don't need to agree on my opinion but surely I have some points in there. This is just food for thought thanks for reading.

This is an excellent post. Yeah, I still have friends trying to convince me to play Axie, but I have too many bills to pay to even start. Splinterlands I already started and I am now generating a lot of DEC in rentals. Also, my card collection seems to jump hundreds of dollars a day without me doing anything at all.

Same for me, I used to play many different games but now I only play blockchain games.

I know right! Any blockchain games i can try that you recommended?

Right now most of my money come from Splinterlands, Axie, RisingStar, Cryptobrewmaster, Dcity Leagueofkingdoms Rplanet and Alien.worlds. In the order of the profit made.

I couldn't have said it any better than @mightyrocklee before me. :-)
