Hello friends I'm back again but this time I am going to talk about a different thing ,that is about a very special food in Africa which can never be forgotten.
I know you guys are really expecting to know what the food is, is a popular food which some of us do eat and get satisfaction from it.
Okay now the name of the food is called cassava, through this cassava we can process many things like Garri, akpu(fufu) and so many other things.
Ok Is now time for me to show you guys the picture of the cassava;
Yes this is the picture of the cassava so through this cassava we can produce a lot of thing that we can use for our consumption.
So you guys may be asking what is the procedures in transforming this cassava into a eatable food.
Okay we are going to talk about how to transform it to a Garri ,okay it's a step-by-step method so I will mention it like that;
- CLEAN AND WASH; This procedure involves peeling and washing the cassava.
- GRATE; This procedure involves grating the cassava's roots into a mash.
- FERMENT AND DE-WATER; IN this procedure you have to ferment the mash and de-water it to create a wet cake.
- SEIVE AND ROAST; SEIVE the wet cake into grit and roast the grits to make Garri.
- BAG AND STORE; YOU can now put your your garri into a bag and store it for anytime you want to use it.

We are done with the procedure of transforming cassava into a Garri ,so now let's talk about transforming it to akpu(fufu). I will also mention it step by step;
- HARVEST AND PREPARE; HARVEST the cassava and peel it and wash it until it's white in color.
- FERMENT; SOAK the cassava in water and let it ferment for 3--4 days.
- FILTER ; USE the SEIVE to filter the cassava and get the paste.
- POUND; MIX the cassava with a little water, mold it into a large shape and put it in a pot to simmer for about 30 seconds to a minute then you remove the pot and pound it well.
- MOLD AGAIN ; MOLD the cassava into small shapes,make a hole in the mold put it back into the pot to cook for about 10 to 15 minutes. Remove the pot from the fire and pound the cassava again until is smooth.
- PRESERVE; TRANSFER the fufu to cling film to keep it moist and smooth.
7)SERVE ; YOU can now serve the fufu with your choice of soup.
As for me I like enjoying the fufu with a well prepared and delicious egusi soup with many ingredients in it.
