Road to Hivefest - Greece to Croatia Roadtrip

It’s finally Hivefest day!!! As a long time Hiver, it was one of my dreams to attend a Hivefest and it’s finally happening this year.

Living in Greece and Hivefest being at Croatia this year, there were no excuses not to attend cause it’s just a 12h drive away,or at least that’s what we thought 😂. Besides, both me and my wife really needed vacation as we worked our ass off this past year.

Took a few days off work, loaded up the car with all necessities, organized a sweet roadtrip with some cool stops before Split and… the adventure begun.

Our first stop was at Durrës Albania. Due to heavy traffic, it took us around 8 hours to get there so we didn’t do much other than go out for dinner and enjoy a long night sleep. Durrës was cool, cheap, and the people were lovely.

We woke up early the next day, checked out and hit the road again. Next stop was Kotor, Montenegro, a lovely city with rich history. Took us another 7 hours to get there due to heavy traffic (again 😂) but it was all worth it. Kotor’s old city was simply amazing. We spent our day strolling around the old city alleys, drinking local beers and eating local delicacies. Great time🔥

After an amazing day at Kotor, we hit the road to Dubrovnik,the legendary Croatian city where the world famous Game of Thrones series filmed a bunch of scenes. Can’t describe how amazing Dubrovnik was, one must travel there to realize but here are a few shots from the city walls and the old town.

We stayed at Dubrovnik for 2 days, and after walking more than 25km in total (for real😂), we both needed a rest so we booked a room at Omis, a small but beautiful town just a 30minutes drive from Split to recharge and it was all worth it. Great food and really chill vibes.

Currently enjoying my morning espresso at a local Omis coffee shop while drafting this post, and we’ll be on our way to Split in a couple hours.
