So I have tried to do the #introduceyourself thing and it didn't work because ctptalk automatically puts a tag in the front of the tags list. Am I missing something, because it seems like it should be an easy achievement.

Try publishing the post in PeakD; then, you can achieve the intro step. Then you can open your post in CTPtalk and use that address to place the post in CTPX.
