Feedback from the March 1st Hive Power Up Day

in #hivebuzz4 years ago

The Hive Power Up Day has truly become an important moment in the life of our community and, once again, this edition did not disappoint us although this time no record was broken.

A few words from the PUD organizers

@traciyork

Last month, I thought for sure we would break records with the power up amounts (thanks to the timing of the HBD price soaring) but while there was lots of excitement and loads of power ups, the numbers were actually a bit lower than I expected. However, I think it was due more to not having one or two big power ups from larger accounts, as we definitely had more HivePUD posts than the month before.

I mention this because I get the feeling it's going to happen again this month. I've seen lots of activity on Twitter & the blockchain with the HivePUD & HPUD tags, but I think the overall amount might not be as big as in month's past. Which doesn't change the fact that today was a super fantabulous Power Up Day! I've seen many faces (both new and old) taking part, and I think all the chatter about investing into our blockchain is far more valuable than what the actual number turns out to be!

Thanks to everyone who participated in whatever way (big or small) to make this day such an awesome success! And special thanks to the HiveBuzz team for BEEing such an amazing buzz-maker!

What are the PUD stats of this month?

As mentioned above, we didn't break a record this time around. This is undoubtedly due to the crypto rally which saw the price of HIVE go up, making it a bit more difficult to acquire HIVE for a power-up.

But let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers.

We have 15 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 17 people to get their PUD badge.

Special kudos to those who were helping several accounts:
junkfeathers (2) and @sandymeyer (2).

Together, the helpers gifted 311.735 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donation:
@junkfeathers (65.00), @ervin-lemark (50.00), @nomad-magus (50.00), @skylinebuds (25.00), @sandymeyer (20.00), @traciyork (11.11), @fermionico (10.62), @dawnoner (10.00), @joanstewart (10.00), @melinda010100 (10.00), @ramzimo68 (10.00), @richardfyates (10.00), @tazi (10.00), @trangbaby (10.00) and @victoriabsb (10.00).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

We now have 89 users who helped at least one less powerful user who never got any power-up from anyone. These benefactors got the so coveted Power Up Helper badge:

Congratulations to @reiseamateur (8), @tazi (7), @traciyork (6), @louis88 (5), @victoriabsb (4), @primersion (4), @sandymeyer (3), @scorer (3), @melinda010100 (3), @ahmadmanga (3), @fraenk (3), @ecency (3), @gr33nm4ster (2), @immanuel94 (2), @blocktrades (2), @saleg25 (2), @trumpikas (2), @lesiopm (2), @junkfeathers (2), @straykat (2), @trangbaby (2), @carlagonz (2), @schlafhacking (2), @sammie (2), @oliverschmid (2), @jossduarte (2), @kubak (2), @silversaver888 (2), @dannewton (2), @derangedvisions (2), @bashadow (2), @fw206 (2), @condeas (2), @dawnoner (2), @nomad-magus (1), @ramzimo68 (1), @skylinebuds (1), @littlenewthings (1), @madefrance (1), @stayoutoftherz (1), @happyfrog420 (1), @tarazkp (1), @walterjay (1), @perceval (1), @ybanezkim26 (1), @yolimarag (1), @valerianis (1), @zirky (1), @pixiepost (1), @satren (1), @revisesociology (1), @jongolson (1), @ph1102 (1), @jacobtothe (1), @qwerrie (1), @jznsamuel (1), @russellstockley (1), @ksteem (1), @pavelsku (1), @jacuzzi (1), @phoenixwren (1), @laloretoyya (1), @quekery (1), @maruskina (1), @inertia (1), @jeanlucsr (1), @richardfyates (1), @muscara (1), @jesusalejos (1), @jeffjagoe (1), @joanstewart (1), @pardinus (1), @shmoogleosukami (1), @felander (1), @gregory-f (1), @forykw (1), @arcange (1), @iamraincrystal (1), @cryptictruth (1), @fermionico (1), @improv (1), @french-tech (1), @elianaicgomes (1), @hive-data (1), @engrave (1), @ervin-lemark (1) and @death-and-taxes (1).

Remember that the number of people you are helping will have a significant influence on the delegations we will do.

But before writing about that, take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

New record for the number of participants with 379 users who powered-up their HIVE.

New record for the volume of HIVE which was powered-up too. No less than 166380 HIVEs have been staked.

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

In nearly all levels, you did better than the previous month, with new records for level 2, 4 and 5 and 35 big stakers who got the Jumbo-Bee thanks to a power-up of at least 1000 HIVE!

Among them: @hivelot (50000), @bartosz546 (13585,522), @peakd (6521,2), @jarvie (5500), @sandymeyer (5000), @french-tech (5000), @melinda010100 (4000), @marcocasario (3142,972), @edicted (3000), @unicornis (2814,58), @deepresearch (2500), @naturalmedicine (2308,515), @juansgalt (2003,987), @thebluewin (1529,17), @satren (1300), @jack.russelle (1299,52), @primersion (1238,786), @fieryfootprints (1180), @forykw (1122,06), @flauwy (1111), @ewkaw (1100), @wehmoen (1098,35), @ecency (1079,801), @vxn666 (1060,241), @galenkp (1050,963), @johnspalding (1006,167), @howweroll (1001), @nickyhavey (1001), @detlev (1001), @crimsonclad (1000), @kaerpediem (1000), @walterjay (1000), @pouchon (1000), @oliverschmid (1000) and @dalz (1000).

Hive Power delegations

Since the beginning of the year, we are rewarding regular participants and those who have also been generous in helping others by offering a 3 weeks Hive Power delegations.
To be eligible for a delegation:

  • you must have participated in this Power Up Day.
  • You must have performed at least 5 power-ups on Power Up Day. Power-up received from another user is not taken into account.
  • 4 of these 5 power-ups must have been done on the last 5 Power Up Days (including this one).

The last rule has been slightly modified from what we announced in order not to penalize those who unfortunately missed a PUD (shit happens). This allows us to support a bit more participants and reward your commitment and consistency.

To compute the amount of HP delegated to each user, we use the following criteria:

  • The number of power-ups performed.
  • The number and levels of power-ups you have performed (ex: you made two "level 3" and three "level 5" power-ups).
  • The number of people you helped to power-up and the amount involved.

This month we will delegate no less than 3616 HP to 102 users

Congratulations to all of you!

See you on April 1st for the next Hive PUD!

Very cool to see so much interest, despite the increased price of HIVE. Very cool!

Well, thanks for your feedback @steemmillionaire 😊

Once again thanks for the delegation, I know it is going to be hard for me to get the Super Bee, but I still plan on working on it. maybe some of my H-E things will pay off before the end of the year, maybe not, but I am not going to give up.

Super Bee! Super Bee!
Go @bashadow, go!
👯💃👯💃👯💃

Great to see numbers growing, commitment and supporting others, slowly but sure learning thanks for feedback @hivebuzz

Thanks to you for your comment and your implication @joanstewart! Happy end of week 😊

No delegations for me? So sad! Had nothing more than 20 Hive to power up!

Posted Using LeoFinance Beta

The delegation is not tied to the amount of Hive you powered-up but how regular you have been at participating in the PUD

Hey @hivebuzz... Can I ask... if this is a big ask... to donate my delegated HP to either the next 5 people bellow me from now on... Forever!...or to a number of your choice... I would like to be ignored by the "reward" and give it away to who needs it.

Realizing that most of t his list might not be a good choice... I was thinking if you can get a list of people like me that wishes to give this delegation to verified "newcomers".

The idea is simple... empower onboarding!

I am sure @traciyork or @louis88 will find some common ground with me... Sorry @tazi, as I don't know you so, you will not need to listen to this nonsense.

Get at me... for further... either here or whatever... Here should be fine.

I have to agree. I'm still trying to help to newcomers. So sometimes I delegate or make powerup to another members of Hive. But I do it by my own and don't need this delegation from @hivebuzz. Maybe it would be better to fined the way how that amount of HP delegate to newcomers.

See our reply to @forkyw.
Better to re-delegate the HP we delegated to you to someone of your choice.

I second this suggestion! Got 72 Hive which could be better used with newcomers.

Thank you mate! How's your son going? You must be so proud! I would be... just saw about him... he looks really great at SB... I am BAD .. really BAD at it... I love ski thought.

He's doing great. Thanks for your question. At this moment he's training with the team on snow. They have excellent conditions. Warm sunny day, soft snow at 1800 meters above sea level...

We both love to ski then :)

I was thinking of buying or lending splitboard equipment. Yet I am too clumsy and lazy to learn to use it properly.

Splitboard is the next best thing. You split the board on your way up the mountains and then you put it together and snowboard down.

Didn't know about it! Nice... maybe I can still learn LOL Attempted several times...

Do it and show us some videos :)

I'll rent it. Next winter as it seems now with the lockdown ...

I doubt I will have any available in NZ... but I know they exist.

See our reply to @forkyw.
Better to re-delegate those 72 HP to someone of your choice.

Can we re-delegate delegated Hive? I suppose I'll be delegating my own Hive :)

OK, it's a deal. I'll do it.

I suppose I'll be delegating my own Hive :)

Yep, that's the trick. Do not forget we will remove our own delegation in 3 weeks 😉

Hey @forykw, such a beautiful gesture on your part. 👍

Unfortunately, the delegation process is (partially) automated and it is difficult for us to have to manage exceptions every time someone is asking for. Add to this that it is not easy to choose another user for the delegation without being impartial.

A better solution is you making your own choice and delegating an equivalent amount.

I understand... and I would volunteer if I had time to gladly provide a script/code to make this happen with a transaction on the blockchain to opt-out for anyone that would like to.

So, if anyone else wishes to take this role and be helpful here, I can help your time with some compensation. Can't promise numbers but if you would be happy with normal curation I will be more than happy to curate more generously.

Thanks for your offer to help with a script but we have the resources.
The opt-out transaction might be a solution. We will check if it can easily be integrated into our process.

I suppose I'll be delegating my own Hive :)

Meantime... way to go! 👍

😎👍

Cool stuff. I could not buy as much this month with the price rise, but I really don't mind it going up as we all benefit.

Hive five!

Well, thanks for your comment @steevc!!! We really appreciated it, we need good vibes and mentality like that 😊👍

Thank you again, @hivebuzz and for the work you and your team do on the blockchain!

You're welcome @fionasfavourites, thanks for your comment! 😊🌹

Thank you very much for support..!

You're welcome @fermionico, this is with pleasure! Keep this motivation and this nice state of mind 😊 Happy PUD !!!

These are some amazing statistics and glad I managed to get some HIVE in before the prices started going up. Some massive powerups going on there and awesome to see so many still getting involved! Looking forward to another Arnie Bee!

See you on April 1st @nickyhavey

Thanks for the monthly shoutout. This month's power up was minor since I'm focusing more on LEODEX and ADA staking rewards.

I powered up yesterday but I should have been saving up for that :) Next time I will know

See you on April 1st for the next Hive PUD @solymi

Thank you for hosting this event! Next month I'm sure we'll break some records :)

Sure thing. See you on April 1st @junkfeathers

Cool stuff!!!

Congratulations @hivebuzz! You received a personal badge!

You powered-up at least 100 HP on Hive Power Up Day! This entitles you to a level 3 badge
Participate in the next Power Up Day and try to power-up more HIVE to get a bigger Power-Bee.
May the Hive Power be with you!

You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

I think perhaps all of the LEO stuff affected the HPUD this month. A lot of people were trying to get as much LEO as they could before the snapshot for that airdrop, myself included.

I powered up a few minutes too early because I'm left handed. oh well.

Try with your right hand next month 😀
If unsure, check the countdown before powering up!

Wowww....it's great

Es grandioso poder ayudar a la plataforma hive y que cada ves vaya subiendo su calidad. Sigamos trabajando

Dear @hivebuzz
It is great to see this level of interest shown by people to participate and I am definitely sure in the next month, the statistic will exceed this definitely
