This isn’t it at all.
This response, how ever busy you may be, is not satisfactory.
Your integrity is at stake and not only are eyes OUTSIDE our community watching... the eyes of the Hive community is watching...
I would remind you of that.
You haven’t answered my question Reese... and basically you are saying that building your project is more important than handling this incident properly... that’s not really a response that engenders trust...
You know, as well as I do, what I’m actually saying here... but I will spell it out for you again if I must.
So basically your saying that your “service” is never wrong and that it is right to spam downvote someone’s account even without due process... like this? Am I correct? 👇
It is clear to me, and many others within the wider Hive Community, that your actions (especially in the case of how @Spaminator auto “dusts” all posts and comments as a “warning” are not without consequence for this blockchain. This is clearly an unfriendly practice especially without any due process!
If this can happen to my account then it is happening unjustly to many other smaller accounts on this blockchain.
What would happen if my what your “service” did was to my daughter’s (or one of her friends) account rather than mine?
Would you then capitulate?
Would you then acknowledge that, because you are implementing human level intelligence as part of your security protocol, that you indeed do have some blind spots, some bias, and some methods that don’t holdUP under scrutiny?
Can you see this from my point of view now?
There’s alot that needs to evolve about your “services” to and for Hive Owners. But if you are unwilling to take the feedback, move sideways by not answering a question directly, or just ignore it all together... this clearly isn’t going to be something that benefits Hive or it’s standing in the wider crypto community.
Defending your current position is standing on quicksand. You have no where to go if you maintain your current stance and refuse to take feedback about what at first look appeared to be a blind spot...
But now it appears to be more grievous than that! It appears to be knowing intent!
You know as well as I do that I’m not referring to “if you would commit an act of plagiarism”.
Reese... it’s not what you know, but what you don’t know... and if you do indeed know but do not make it right and publicly so... you can, and everyone else can, see why I have asked you to step down and cease and desist your current protocols until we, as a community can do a full evaluation, and construct a better response to HOW we deal with spam, from spam to downvote spam, hate, abuse, and discrimination, and plagiarism, to name a few.
This is really about trust and I think you have a pretty good idea what I mean by that...
Another thing that is going to need to be openly discussed is, “What happens when you make a miss judgement?” And “What should happen if it is agreed upon that your service does not have the proper procedures for identifying breaches in Hive Integrity, and nor does it have proper practices for actually dealing with legitimate acts against the integrity of this blockchain.” ...not to mention the fact that rectifying these issues on Hive is unfriendly from start to finish and only compounds the problems and ends up having a fallout potential for Hive’s marketability!
If this isn’t a serious breach of trust... I don’t know what is! And if you are incapable of realizing this and dealing with it appropriately... this in it’s self doesn’t do much for the levels of trust your operations on Hive would require.
Is this truly wanted by the community of Hive owners? Or are you in actuality working for the benefit of some other un-named blockchain?
Your actions have got to be accountable and transparent if you want to maintain any of the “services” that are being called into question here.
If you are unable to answer me directly and in a public way... I believe that this is grounds for the community to do a full assessment and determination as to the integrity and relevance of the @hivewatchers, @hivewatcher, and @spaminator “services”.
Please consider carefully what your next response will be as it could determine what the Hive community thinks about you and the “services”you are providing.
Sincerely,
Wil, you don't have the right to ask me to step down because you got a few dust votes from a bot, which were then reviewed manually and removed. It's like saying "I want this coffee shop to stop functioning because I got five cents less in my change than I should have". You're taking the elements of your arguments that have validity and completely destroying them by pursuing these inconsequential few votes by an account whose only purpose is to warn people in advance that something is wrong.
We don't downvote discrimination and hate. That's not in our scope. We only deal with exploitation, fraud or phishing.
Look, I get that you were hurt that someone you likely trusted reported you while you were trying to do good. It's not like I don't understand where you're coming from. If you want to have a discussion with me you can hit me up on any chat in a public room. I'm not hard to find. But these massive comments where we don't even arrive at the core of what you consider to be the issue with the services are not the way.
