Reflections on 2025 and Looking Ahead to 2026

As 2025 slowly comes to an end and the festive season is in full swing, I wanted to take a moment to look back at the year and also look ahead to 2026.

2025 has been a turbulent year with many ups and downs. Not just for me personally, but for many of you here on Hive as well. The year started well, with a small bull run that pushed the price above 60 cents. Now it seems to be ending in the single-digit range. Still, we’ve been here before, and we’ll get through it again.

Hive is more than just a currency. It’s a community full of amazing people, and you can’t really put a price on that. As long as we stay optimistic and stick together, we can get through any storm. That may sound a bit cheesy, but I truly believe it.

For me personally, 2025 has also been a year of transformation - learning from the past, opening up blind spots, being willing to change, and embracing faith while doing what is right.

This year was also a year of new beginnings. At the start of 2025, I knew I wanted to focus more on AI. I didn’t know exactly how and my first implementation here on Hive was far from optimal, but the feeling reminded me of crypto between 2017 and 2020. And as of this month, I’m now working in the AI space, more specifically in agentic AI.

I still value the blockchain space deeply, and it will remain important to me going into 2026. However, the space has matured a lot, and real innovation has become harder. Because of that, I recently shifted my focus back to what is the most important project for me in this ecosystem: Hive itself. That’s also why I started and helped implement the new Hive.io redesign.

Looking ahead to 2026, I want to spend the work time I have outside of AI, on Hive - working on projects and initiatives that help move us forward.
