https://swap-app.app
The website for the @swap.app service is now online so we're gonna take a quick look at what it offers :)
Swap Rates
Users no longer have to send 0.001 HIVE with memo status
to check current swap ratios - all are listed on the website. Choose which currencies you want to swap, enter the amount and you will see the output instantly. Just remember that the actual amount of received coins can slightly vary, as order books on crypto exchanges are constantly changing.
Guides
The website also presents quick guide how to perform the actual swap - which means making a transfer to @swap.app and using a memo if needed. The guide changes dynamically depending on selected currencies. Also a screenshot is added to make the whole process easier to understand.
Next Steps
This is the first version of the website - now we will work on adding keychain login so users will be able to send transfers directly from the website. This will also make buying HIVE with BTC possible as users will be able to receive BTC deposit address.
this is so nice...can i get the swap.hive token for the dcity game on this website
Integrating Hive Engine is in plans :)
I immediately add to my favorite sites :-).
Of course, I will also add a link to my Sunday overview of events on Hive. Good things need to be spread around the world :-)
Perfect we were looking for something like this.
Awesome update!
Q: Will you be adding ETH or BCH too?
ETH would be next on the list but first need to fully understand how it works :)
Cool! I just tested the Hive to Eth conversion. How much time does it need for me to receive the converted ETH?
I used my @ftfund account to transact.
Should be few minutes although ETH networks is pretty congested atm...
I did the swap 10 hrs ago. Is there a way to track the ETH in their network?
Hi @funtraveller - the ETH network was crazy congested (it seems that the transactions were more expensive than in BTC) - because of that the transactions failed to be completed, let me resend it :)
I tried BTC the other day. The transaction is smooth and the fee is fine as well.
Had to pay $1.7 to finally push the transaction trough :O
So much fee?
Just received my ETH. It seems you paid for the additional fee, thanks for that.
Metamask show the gas price in real time, maybe you could link Swap.App to it to show ETH transaction fee in real time as well?
Thank you for your efforts
That is great. I will love to see other crypto added
Brilliant would love to see this intergrated into all front ends in the future! Such a great on-ramp
Why is my transfer taking forever, the other times it usually doesn't take this long? Can I get assistance or refund of my HBD?
Fixed and refunded, sorry for the problem!
I appreciate the prompt reply. Your service is just amazing.
Sure, checking :)
Good work on the site and service! Would you consider adding support for lightning payments when using BTC? This would save you and your users a ton over transacting on the mainnet.
As far as I can tell, LN is still very clunky and not really that safe. There are different implementations and not really that much people use it. But once it's developed, sure :)
It definitely takes an understanding of the software/network but is certainly safe for use. There's just shy of 1000 BTC in public channels using the network, not even counting private channels, so if it was risky then those would have been compromised long ago. As for the different implementations they all share the same BOLT specs and would all be interoperable for the main needs of an exchange.
This would also be an excellent addition to being a fast ramp for users into Hive. By using Strike by Zap, a US user would be able to buy Hive via fiat in their bank account for only the cost you would charge them for the BTC to Hive conversion. This whole transaction would settle in less than 15 seconds.
It would also mean that you can batch all withdraws you need to the exchange you use as a single onchain transaction versus paying with multiple UTXO with on chain payments. That might not be a huge saving today but wait till transaction costs go back up. It'll be much better to be prepared today IMHO.
I won't say there won't be huge improvements ahead but Lightning Network is already ready for the task. The first exchange to provide it will have a great headstart with building a regular userbase and mindset for using the tech.
Would you suggest any python libs / api that would allow to use it? So far I didn't find anything plug&play.
I'm not as familiar with python but I believe PyLightning would be up your alley for that.
To get a node up and running easily I would recommend BTCPay. It includes the option for a lightning node and makes setup very easy. I've always used LND with it but with that library you'd want to go with clightning which I'm a bit less familiar since I've been only been using LND for some time now.
The hardest part with lightning is managing the channels of your node. I'm not sure how familiar you are with lightning but everything runs off payment channels. If a channel is full then it can't receive payments and users will have trouble routing payments in. I usually recommend Lightning Loop when using LND but not sure of a comparable alternative in clightning. Nonetheless I'm sure for smaller transactions it would still be cheaper if you had to close your channels if they fill up.

I used this site few weeks ago and its really amazing. So fast
Please assist to check:
It looks like both transactions did not really work. Or it's delayed?
Thank you
How did I just lose 10 steem in a 20 steem swap??
All seems fine in your wallet (2 swaps, first 10 steem and then 20 steem).
Can you describe what's the problem?
It's all good. I did not know of the difference in price.
👍
Any chance of implementing this on Blurt? I'm sure it would be popular.
Yep, once it will get listed on Binance. Also Hive-Engine tokens support was added, will write about it today (hopefully :).
Cool stuff. Really appreciate this service.
Nice site. How long does a HIVE to ETH transfer take using your services? How much does the fee cost?
Hi - about one minute. It's very important to use wallet address, not smart contract (service) address as those require huge fees lately.
The transaction fee is 0.7% and the ETH transfer fee is around $1 lately.
Hey, I sent @swap.app some HIVE to convert to ETH but It hasn't arrived yet to my ETH address. Please check your wallet transactions.
Received from darthnava 46.545 HIVE

Already refunded :) If you want to try again, be sure to use wallet/crypto exchange deposit address (not smart contract).
Thanks.
👍
Some smart contracts require this kind of fees :D
Thanks for clarifying.
Can you add bch?
Btc fees are too high, for me.
So nice
@cardboard ~ Someone I know just accidentally sent HBD to @swapp.app instead of @swap.app 😬 She is hoping that is one of your accounts, too, and the funds can be recovered. Please let us know. Thank you!
Sadly not, this is a scam account :(
I was afraid of that... 😞 Thank you so much for the response! 🙌
Cool stuff. We need more options to get $Hive in and out. Your service worked great for extracting the last of my Steem. It has to be made easy.
Sell your BTC for $Hive!
@swap.app @cardboard when selecting steem to hive conversion. I have found a small typo error , that can be fixed.
Will be definitely using the service.
Thanks!
@cardboard Its my pleasure dear ;-).
Hi there. Why did you send steemp to @swap.app?:)
No problem, it's already refunded :)
Well... I mean... this looks like a Hive transfer from @swap.app.
👍
