Maybe I should have said that we don't generally work on Friday afternoons, so I was not going back to the office. We had our meal then went to the pub over the road, but I'd had enough beer. It was a late night yesterday.

Ah, okay! That is fun! We get Friday's off for about a month in the summer, but that is about it.
I had this sort of working week years ago when I worked in Germany. It extends the weekend a bit at the cost of just working a little longer on other days.
I really enjoy it. Especially in the summer when we have a lot of camping trips planned.
