I know some consider this an unlucky day, but you can be lucky any time on Hive if you have enough support. Most of us will never make a cent on Youtube or other platforms, but even a comment can earn here. We need to keep growing the community so more people can be earning. I am sure many would appreciate any extra income in these difficult times. Even a certain soon-to-be ex-president may need the money and he may find himself banned from the mainstream services. I have seen talk of an exodus to Parler, but it seems that is not decentralised and you can be censored there too. Hive cannot be censored. The front ends may have to block accounts if local law insists, but the blockchain is decentralised and you can put up your own site if you like.

It has dipped a bit now, but the HIVE price was touching 14c yesterday. That is some improvement on recent performance.

Yesterday I worked on updating the list of Hivers/Hivians in the UK that @pennsif used to maintain. I have found a few to add, but some are inactive. There are about 80 of us, which is just over one in a million. Lots of growth potential.

The two main Hive sites have stalled a bit on growth according to Hypestat. They seem to get lots of visitors, but few are actually logged in. There are really just a couple of thousand actually posting. We need to improve on that.

Hypestat

AltspaceVR. You can get an immersive experience if you have the appropriate hardware, but you can still get involved on a normal PC screen. It seems to work with Windows and Apple. I usually use Linux, but tested it in Windows 10 on my old PC that has built-in graphics and it worked pretty well. You may want to get set up ahead of time. The big news this week is that @HiveFest is happening next month. Of course actual meet-ups are not really possible, but @roelandp is setting it up in

And so to my weekly suggestions of people to check out. These will all be from the UK this time and include some I found whilst compiling the list.

  • @adamfryda-art is an artist who selling his work through some of the 'NFT' platforms.
  • You may guess what @rmsbodybuilding is into, but he is also interested in technology.
  • @dannewton is a photographer with an interest in wildlife.
  • @barge has some tips on securing your Hive account.
  • @robbieallenart is another artist down on the south coast.

We have several Hive witnesses in the UK, so please consider giving them a vote. There are a lot of inactive witnesses, so check that your votes are going to those who are actually contributing.

Check out @c0ff33a @nathanmars @someguy123 @ura-soul @cadawg @whiterosecoffee. Your support means a lot to them.

If you know of any more people in the UK then please let me know. Eventually we will start meeting up in person again.

Have a great weekend and Hive five!

@nathanmars is one of my favorites

Thanks for the mention @steevc, much appreciated! It's nice to discover a few more UK peeps into the whole Crypto and Hive thing!

There's a fair few UK artists on here. It's a good base to build on.

Thanks for the shoutout Steevc, nice work with @pennsif's footsteps :D

You are very welcome. It can feel like there is nobody around you who is on Hive, but we are scattered about. Need to build some local hubs.

Thanks for promoting my witness, it's much appreciated! I've managed to sneak my way into 2 follow fridays now under different categories, first Community, now Witness and legend has it that I'll be in the art category next week 😂😂😂 (don't ask me how, I'm no good at art)!

Fame is a fickle thing, so don't expect too much :)

Is that something that you have to register for? It would be cool if I could finally participate in a Hive Fest, even if it is only virtual. Hopefully that momentary pump is just a taste of what is coming. I was shocked yesterday when I saw BTC holding over 16k.

It's free to attend and I think you just have to be online at the right times. Timezones may be an issue for some. Roeland may be back in Europe now, so he will probably make it suit him, but maybe there can be events spread over all hours so everyone can be a part of it.

@steevc Hey, I am really confused about the keys here. I cannot view them to find out what they are. The buttons pop up, but it says I need a key???

Hi. It works the same as on Steem. You need the master key (I think) to reveal your keys. Really you should change them to be different to what you had on Steem. That needs the master key too. Plus you should change the recovery account to someone other than Steem just in case they pull more dirty tricks. This post has some info on it.

Just tried to see my keys at https://wallet.hive.blog/@steevc/permissions and it prompts me to log in. I use Keychain, but it still doesn't work. Maybe something is wrong.

Anyway, change your keys when you can and keep a safe backup.

Thanks for continuing to make Hive awesome.

you said some beautiful words. I hope HIVE will come back up sooner or later.
