HIVE: Uploading or linking images?

I do not upload images on Hive.Blog or Peakd.com, or if I do it, I do it rarely. I prefer hosting my images on some external host and then linking them simply drop a link.

It has been always easier to me to do it that way, but to rely on direct upload.

What kind of a website do you need to upload your images.

Fairly you can upload your image where ever you want and then share it on Hive with a direct link. You do not need to have a specific host, but if you have to try using something you have a control of, or at least a profile where you can manage your images.

When you upload to Hive you no longer can delete an image if you want it, but if you delete it from your external host, you will no longer have a preview on Hive post.

That can be useful. Also, it can be quite a pain if you accidentally delete your wallpapers or banners, or if your entire account gets deleted or suspended and you lose content.

When you linking in a picture or photography, or whatever, even if it is free make sure to give attribution to the author by linking a source website. Unless it is dead obvious that a cover art is yours, like for example in my case.

I create covers in Canva, upload it on IMGUR and paste link on Hive posts.
