Politics on its own isn't bad at all but it's just that over the years, politicians has dragged the sole purpose of politics down the drain that an average citizen sees it as something someone aspiring to be close to God will not just get close to but won't even think about, so who exactly do we blame for that?
The sad realization remains that if we don't really stand up to declare interests in politics and keep on complaining, nothing is absolutely going to change and we will keep on complaining without effect, even the Bible says that faith without work is dead, so also, is lying on your bed complaining that the Governor or Minister didn't do something well while displaying your laissez-faire attitude towards politics won't yield any fruit.
Fortunately, getting involved in politics doesn't necessarily equate to picking up forms and campaigning for an executive position, there are many branches even as low as becoming a party member and party chairmanship position, it just involves you knowing where exactly your strength lies and enacting change using that particular position.
Personally, I have always loved politics and I still partake in them even here in school so if given a chance for a greater position, of course, I'll gladly take it but then, playing the dirty game of politics is what I am not going to do because that is where I draw the line...
Ever heard of the saying,
"In the process of beating the devil, you might become a monster"
That's exactly what it means when you try to gain something by all means!
The good deeds that once ignited you into going for the post might be lost in the process of getting the post because you're keen on doing anything possible for the post.
Now tell me, what's then the difference between you and the thousands of persons that have gone already for it because one thing I've come to believe is that most of these persons had wonderful intentions getting the tickets for this positions but along the line lost the cause, so personally, there is obviously no need to do anything possible especially when it's getting out of track of your proposed values.
I would have said what will be will be but in reality when it has to deal with politics in my country, that's not the case however, for people practicing free and fair election, what will be might be anyway.
In life, I've come to discover two things...you never say NEVER In two occasions...
- When dealing with humans
- In practicing Medicine
That been said, I never know what the future holds and how intoxicated finally clinching a high level political post in my country might make me turn out but that's where your advisors comes in because everyone can't be wrong at the same time so once I surround myself with great minds who are willing to serve the people properly, I think the problem is already half solved and I'll leave the other half to fate.
Politics is a beautiful aspect of humans especially when we engage in it knowing where to draw the line to not cross our core values.
