2025: Why Did I Start Blogging on HIVE Again?

I have been blogging regularly about crypto related topics on Publish0x and Medium. Over the years I tried several other platforms that supported crypto based content like Uptrend and ReadCash but they eventually shut down.
I tried HIVE on and off several times but could not write there consistently as I found the system of curation, multiple in house currencies like HBD, HIVE etc confusing.
Another challenge I faced was that HIVE was full of all sorts of generic blogs like photography, poems, food and everything under the sun. It was very difficult to make your content stand out. Publish0x is a very crypto centric platform so I never faced that issue there. I had similar issues starting out on Medium as it is very difficult to get views for crypto centric content but that changed suddenly for me when some of my posts on Airdrop hunting went semi-viral. What was easier on Medium was they just use a metric linked to how many paid users of the site read your content and directly send the payout in $ to your Stripe account linked to Medium.

Why Did I come back to HIVE?

The main reason why I decided to try out HIVE blogging again was my renewed interest in playing Splinterlands. I had stopped playing Splinterlands regularly for quite some time as due to the new game regulations my Wild cards had become unusable for me. I had very small portfolio of Rebellion series and did not have a lot of liquidity to spend on building up a collection as Rebellion seemed a bit pricey to me. Recently Chaos collection was allowed to be played as part of Modern so I started playing again.
As I started playing again I noticed that HIVE was promoting users to actively post content about Splinterlands gameplay. That also formed a key incentive to create content related to Splinterlands.

Positive Feedback Loop between Splinterlands and HIVE!!
It was thus a chain reaction that I played more Splinterlands so I had more ideas to write content about it on HIVE and it got me more visibility and that inspired me to go and play some more. Hopefully I can keep up this trend during the complete year of 2025.
I also started interacting more with other players who post content regularly about Splinterlands and realised that there are multiple blogging platforms running on HIVE like HIVE Blog, Peakd, InLEo and some more. I start cross-posting my content across these platforms and got to know about some other games running on HIVE like DCrops which brought back the nostalgia of FarmVille days. Some upcoming games also look really promising like HoloZing which seems it will do really well as it will be launching right in the middle of a major bull run.

What Is My Plan Next?
I am now planning to post more about topics on HIVE beyond Splinterlands like New crypto related projects like L1 or L2 chains, Memes, NFTs etc and see if I am able to get decent engagement on that as well. If I get time I might start some general topic posting as well about my hobbies like reading, travelling, movies, sports.
If you write regularly on HIVE then drop your handle in the comments so I can start following your content or add me on HIVE so I can follow you there.
My user on HIVE is @sambtc.

Looking at HIVE I feel it is really undervalued compared to the potential it has a common platform to support blogging, gaming, socials DApps.
It’s biggest advantage is the zero transaction fees which makes it ideal for everyone to participate in. I am sure this is going to explode during 2025!

Cheers,
Sam
