Thanks for sharing, I didn't know HIVE is listed already!
It's a very low volume exchange, at least atm, that might change if it's the only one that lists HIVE!
Very easy to sign up, you can be trading in minutes.
Will be interesting to see how many sell their airdrop. I will be holding mine and looking to buy some soon. Hive to the moon!
I'll be selling mine if I can get 0.00007 BTC for it, only to buy back later when it goes back down to around 0.00001 BTC.
I can't see it being valued higher than Steem has been recently, not for a while,
I'm gonna try trading some just to see how it works!
Give it a go, I can't see large volumes going for more than $0.50 TBH!
It's bound to drop, I think, but that's not financial advice, as it never is!
It's been almost a year since I last saw Steem being worth 8k satoshis! That was a lucky sell, probably going to see some people dumping them soon. I'm both excited and scared about this new chapter
I think it was lucky! I'll take the tenner though!
My rational brain tells me the price of HIVE probably isn't going to be higher than $.10 - I mean we've basically done QE with the fork and printed twice as many coins, and there's no greater demand than there was before really.
Of course there's a fortune to be made if you judge the speculation right, but on the underlying fundamentals I'd say less than $.10 is a realistic value, a price I'd be comfortable buying at for holding I mean.
Yes, we've doubled the coins but I think we are going to see the value shift towards HIVE in the long run. Why? Because of all the apps, the users and the devs. Exchanges are not stupid. Of course they want the business all the tens of thousands of Hiveans will bring with them. We will be trading not only our own tokens but a bunch of others, too.
Yes I agree, TBH I'll be looking to buy more from now on!
It's not unusual to get a ridiculously high price in the first hours after a new coin is listed. The Hive price is just below the Steem price now. It will probably take a while before higher usage is reflected in the price.
First time for me! Never really paid much attention to new coin listings before!
Here's a longer comment, because I'm not allowed to post for some reason. I'm getting the error "Missing Posting Authority edb", but I'd expect the same authority to apply to posts and comments. Update: the problem was that I'm not allowed to post while changing the reward settings on the posting page.
This is not financial advice
I didn't get around to any trading yet, besides selling my liquid Steem for SBD, but it's fun to look at the price.
Steem lost about a third of its value today:
If Steem drops from 30 cents to 20 cents, does that mean Hive will be worth 10 cents? No, we can expect the combined value to be more because of the buzz around the chain split.
Currently there's a huge spread between bids and asks on Ionomy, the only exchange where Hive is traded so far, while there's very little supply.
As I'm writing this, the Steem price is 3142 satoshis according to @coingecko. That's within the spread for Hive (2600 to 4999 sats), so we're around the same level.
In the short term, we can expect wild swings as a result of dumping from both sides. Steem might do well financially for a few months, since it's attracting people who are motivated by money. But I hope Hive will eventually do better, because the platform is more useful and more people will be using it.
Ah we can agree to agree, you're factoring in the buzz and hype, which fair enough can do CRAZY things to the price!
I was thinking what happens when all the dust dies down and we're back to just Hive, which is a handful of people getting peanuts for posting reasonable content, and a few games... then it'll probably settle back to 1000 statoshis,
Maybe!
TBH I've learnt my predictions, like most crypto analysts (which I'm not) are worth shit - but this time I'm just going to put in my crazy limit buys and sells for HIVE and just leave them there!
And I'm probably going to hold most of my HIVE anyway!
how do you access info to your wallet?
Everything seems to be working except that part (for me)
Do I need to download a wallet or anything?
(I feel like a newbie!lol)
Use peakd.com. The wallet works just fine.
Instructions how to install Hive Keychain:
https://steempeak.com/hive/@themarkymark/how-to-install-hive-keychain
I've installed it, but still cant transfer rewards.
It doesn't matter right now - I'm sure it will sort itself out.
No problem. Thanks.
You're welcome. I had issues earlier today, too. But none at the moment. In a few days, most of the problems should be gone.
I know what you mean!
I'm using Peakd.com and i used their own Peak lock to log in, works fine.
I'm having problems accessing the Hive wallet page to do transfers, do you need to install a separate one?
I would be careful with selling. When blocktrades enables Steem to Hive transition (soon), i don't see Hive coming down in the next 13 weeks
What's that all about? You mean we can just bring our Steem straight from, well 'steem ' over to here?
I understand what you're saying, but thinking long term, we've just had the equivalent of quantitative easing. That halves the price, go back to before the speculation, there's no more real 'demand' for either Steem or Hive than there was in January, when steem was around 0.000018 ish.
And now there's twice as many tokens, and this is riskier.
But thanks for the cuationary word.
🤓
Eh?
