Praying that some hive elder takes pity on my sad defeated picture-less profile and helps me figure out what is wrong!

Just wanted to start of by saying how much i appreciate the warm welcome I have received here on Hive!
So here is the issue I am having. I understand how You can update your profile on the Settings page. Which includes your display name, location, about information, and website. I know and understand that.
The issue is when i click on the settings button nothing happens! What ever page Im on weather its my profile page or the notifications page stays up on the screen. However i have noticed the url will change to the settings address.
Ive waited on this page for quite some time making sure its not loading without me knowing and have trouble shot it the best I could with my limited knowledge, but nothing has worked.
What I ended up doing was opening the settings in a new tab or typing the URL in the box.
This trick worked and i was able to bring the settings page up to put in all my info and really start connecting with the Hive family. I was so exited at first cus I thought I had solved the problem that i had been working on.
So I started off simple and tried to only update the profile picture. I uploaded my photo using Hive and not a 3rd party image HTML site and I clicked update...
The little loading pinwheel just spins and spins and spins. It does nothing and i have left my computer open to the page and let it run longer then anything would ever need. It did not work 😔
So naturally I spent a bunch more time trying different things! Using 3rd party websites, using the ones I have on steemit, different information boxes, hell I tried entering no information.
That damn wheel just keeps spinning in my face taunting me, laughing at me, making me feel less than a man and reminding me just how tech savvy I most certainly am not.
Now after 3 days of failure I am admitting defeat and asking the hive pros for help!
I honestly dont think anything I am doing is wrong and there is some type of glitch but I have no idea how to report this or to get help other then making a post and praying that some hive elder takes pity on my sad defeated picture-less profile and informs me that in-fact there is a glitch or schools me and tells me what I'm doing wrong.

Yea @mineopoly told me about it and it really saved the day. I still have so much to learn about hive, It’s exiting!

Make a post with the picture you want to be your profile and now use that link.
You can even post in a comment the picture like this:

yup these sites can be a real pain. you need to have your profile pics and videos hosted on other sites and then imported via their URL. this site may help you out https://imgbb.com/ because it converts things to HTML. i cant remeber where my profile is being hosted, been a few years but if that site doesnt work or seeems sketchy to you let me know and ill look into it. thanks for signing up bud btw!

Well the site works great! thank you for that, but hive still hates me lol
lol, it's taking me some time to get back into the full swing of things indeed. Lots of good people are willing to help though, it's great to be able to share this knowledge with the people who can appreciate it. Be prepared for most folk to go cross eyed when you explain what we do here to em ;)
