There I was just starting to get to grips with all the toys and gadgets that Hive offers and today I notice a new button at the top of the navigation bar. Hmm? What could this be about I wonder? I will come to that later on as I'm busy right now I said to myself.

It took about half an hour before curiosity got the better of me and I felt compelled to press the Snaps button. Here she is the little cheeky thing.

I had no idea what I would discover. So @peakd have given us a Twitter all of our own. It's the perfect compliment to the Hive platform and makes it much easier to get involved in conversations with other Hivians. It will almost certainly help us all to create new connections with others.

And of course it has full comment engagement and monetization functionality built in to each snap, as well as the ability to send tips.

There is even the option of using other frontends to send your Snap.

The whole Snaps service is very simple to use and you can easily filter out the type of Snap feed you want to access using the filter options at the top.

I have to say this will be a great place to get involved with Hive discourse and test the mood of the moment with Hivians. It's also an excellent means of seeing what people are up to who you don't follow, as by clicking the on the Newest or Trending button you can discover what other Hivians have been up to.

It's almost the fusion of Discord and Hive blogging in one new method of communication. Snaps certainly have a different dynamic to them.

The question now is what customs might emerge? What will be frowned on and what will be accepted? And what will be encouraged? Can you promote your post in a Snap? Would that be frowned on or not? Who knows, we shall find out soon I'm sure.

I understand that even our @themarkymark had a slight influence in getting Snaps up and running, although he's very modest about it all. But as he rightly points out ideas are only ideas, it's the implementation that's the difficult part and that has to be credited fairly and squarely with the @peakd.snaps dev team.

Congratulations to you guys on an awesome new toy for Hive, let's all get playing with it.

Peace!

The changes are starting to roll in.

Yes, it's great to see this development for sure.

Ohhh

I'm legit just seeing it...

Effing mental...

Lol! Yes definitely effing mental this new addition!

First thing I've thought is "finally I can make my Hive experience closer to my Instagram profile".
Not for the picture or video side, but for the concept of giving little bit of content more frequently and around the same topic. It's easier for me to promote a song with ten different little pieces of content instead of 1-2 long blog posts

I totally agree these little 'bitesize' posts to tell the world what we're up to and what's going are a much more effective way of getting a simple message out there and connecting with more people you don't normally bump into on the chain.

Congratulations @peaceandmoney! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)
