What the hell just happened? 91 cents!

91 cents??

I'm still a bit stunned. Does anyone know what the heck is going on? 24 hour trading volume is $669,941,311.64 on CMC as of this writing (up 2805.36%).

I went to power up some Leo and noticed it had dropped to below 1 Hive. I was like wtf, I need to buy some more. So I went to buy some hive on Bittrex and that's when I saw it.. Hive at 91 cents. Please tell me that there is some kind of good news that drove this bump!

I can't seem to find any information. Was it just some new investor that bought a huge pile of coins?

This market is so nuts. On one hand I am super excited, but I am totally getting December 2017 vibes. A lot of smart people have been saying that this run is a lot different than the last time being that there are so many big time investors getting involved in the crypto space.

What do you guys think? Do you think that that we are going to have a massive bubble burst like last time, or do you think that it won't be as severe? What about alt coins? It seems that many alts have diverged quite a lot from BTC. I would love to hear some opinions.

Something to do with the new marketing campaign spearheaded by @lordbutterfly perhaps?

I hope so!

I wasn't aware of that, I'll have to look into it. Up to 94c now! I hadn't realized that it actually went over a dollar a bit ago. I expected it to dump down immediately, but it's actually going up again! Please let it stick...

Here you can see where all the hive goes.

That is an interesting visualization. Thanks for the link! If one doesn't exist, I might make a tool that real-time shows who is powering up and down, as well as how much.

I heard it was something about Korea maybe, but I haven't heard much beyond that. It was definitely a welcome sight even though it has now dropped back down to the $.80 range.

I see that on upbit HIVE/KRW has had over 600 million in volume over the past 24 hours. We have had nearly 1bln dollars volume the last 24 hour. It is nuts. Maybe the Koreans are selling their steem and buying hive?

As long as they plan on long term holding I am okay with that!

It's got me wondering also what is driving this. Pump 'n dump, or something else?

I don't know, man. Usually when this happens, the Whales start to power down and you see massive dumps within a week. I would love to imagine that we are in an upward trend but I am not getting my hopes up.

When you see this much volume at these prices, it does raise the hope that people have bought a lot at expensive prices which could raise the bottom price. But then again, there are still tons of people who got insane amounts of coin for cheap.

Back down to 75c this morning, so I'd say profit taking. Whether it goes for another leg up, remains to be seen. I have so little hive and busy with other things to play Hive prices.

For one thing, I'm working on my own trading bot, because I found last year I wasted too much time staring at charts and making bad trades. So I figure the time is better spent developing an automatic process, a bot.

I'd wondered if the LeoFinance and Cub might have had something to do with the rise in the price of Hive.

Nice to see, I am a bit detached from it, for the time being, I treat it as play money. Conversely, the stock market is doing good also.

That is probably a healthier way to look at it. I have been trying hard to get my emotions in check. I realize that I have a bit of an addiction problem...

I need to know so badly what is causing the pump. But either way, I'm super excited.

I just want to know the cause to know if it is just a huge buy, or a trend.

I know... I just sold some yesterday and woke up today and was like... sigh

I did the same thing a couple of days ago! Actually, I sold 5k Hive for around 55 cents, then bought it back for 40 something. Should have waited a few days! I keep meaning to hold some liquid Hive in an exchange, but I just hate having it liquid for some reason.

yeah likewise... I usually power it up.

getting started!

Please, God! Let it just be the beginning.
