Tenía tiempo queriendo actualizarme un poco en desarrollo de software, ya que es mi profesión y quisiera estar listo para eventualmente aplicar lo aprendido en proyectos personales o en uno que otro trabajo que pueda salir como Freelance.

I had been wanting to update myself a little bit in software development, since it is my profession and I would like to be ready to eventually apply what I have learned in personal projects or in one or another job that may come up as a Freelance.
Anteriormente, era un poco difícil elegir una ruta de aprendizaje pues la información disponible era un poco escasa en internet (hace años digo). Actualmente es todo lo contrario, hay tanta información por ahí que en ocasiones es hasta abrumador elegir por donde comenzar.

In the past, it was a bit difficult to choose a learning path because the information available was a bit scarce on the internet (years ago I mean). Nowadays it is the opposite, there is so much information out there that sometimes it is overwhelming to choose where to start.
La mayoría del tiempo en nuestra carrera nos toca aprender de forma autodidacta directamente de la documentación oficial de cada proyecto, pero esto no siempre es un proceso agradable porque dependiendo de la curva de aprendizaje se puede tornar un poco difícil iniciar sin tener una guía o ejemplos reales donde aplicar lo aprendido.

Most of the time in our career we have to learn in a self-taught way directly from the official documentation of each project, but this is not always a pleasant process because depending on the learning curve it can become a bit difficult to start without having a guide or real examples where to apply what we have learned.
En mi caso suelo seguir el contenido que otros desarrolladores van creando en: Youtube, Blogs, entre otros. Lo único malo de esto es que siempre vas a estar un paso atras pues toca esperar que alguien aprenda, procese lo aprendido y luego cree contenido para otros (por eso lo ideal es estar de la mano de la documentación oficial). El tema del ingles es fundamental a la hora de aprender y estar al día, en mi caso leer y escuchar cualquier curso en ingles no es un problema y es lo que me permite minimizar la curva de aprendizaje.

In my case I usually follow the content that other developers are creating in: Youtube, Blogs, among others. The only bad thing about this is that you will always be a step behind because you have to wait for someone to learn, process what they have learned and then create content for others (so the ideal is to be hand in hand with the official documentation). In my case reading and listening to any course in English is not a problem and is what allows me to minimize the learning curve.
React.js es la librería que quería comenzar a estudiar, ya que suelo ver muchas ofertas que lo piden como requisito para trabajar. Según la web oficial define a React.js como "una biblioteca de JavaScript declarativa basada en componentes para construir interfaces de usuario."

React.js is the library I wanted to start studying, since I usually see many offers that ask for it as a requirement to work. According to the official website defines React.js as "a component-based declarative JavaScript library for building user interfaces."
Lo primero que hice fue seguir los tutoriales y ejemplos disponibles en la web de React.js. Luego de culminar apenas sentía que podía leer y escribir algo, pero necesitaba profundizar y fue cuando me di a la tarea de buscar alguna comunidad o plataforma de aprendizaje en línea.

The first thing I did was to follow the tutorials and examples available on the React.js website. After finishing I just felt that I could read and write something, but I needed to go deeper and that's when I started looking for an online learning community or platform.
¿Por donde comenzar 🤔? | Where to start 🤔?
Decidí plantearme algunos puntos clave para seleccionar la comunidad/plataforma y continuar aprendiendo:
La plataforma/comunidad debía ser totalmente free (no tenía pensado hacer gastos para aprender lo elemental hasta lo intermedio).
La plataforma/comunidad debía ser activa para poder tener feedback ante cualquier duda.
La ruta de aprendizaje era clave (para saber por donde comenzar y que hacer para minimizar la curva de aprendizaje).
Opcionalmente la certificación.

The first thing I did was to consider some points to select the community/platform to continue learning:
- In principle, the platform/community should be free (I was not planning to spend money to learn the basics up to the intermediate level).
- The platform/community should be active in order to have feedback in case of any doubt.
- The learning path was key (to know where to start and what to do to minimize the learning curve).
- Optional certification.

1 - Coursera: Probando un poco este sitio realicé dos cursos en los que pude obtener 2 certificaciones:

After searching and testing a few platforms I went through:
1 - Coursera: testing this site a bit I took two courses in which I was able to get 2 certifications:
- Developing Cloud Apps with Node.js and React
- Introduction to UML.
Esta plataforma cuenta con un sin número de cursos avalalados por universidades reconocidas, tienes la posibilidad de pagar por la certificación o aplicar para una beca que cubra ese costo y obtenerlo de forma gratuita. Yo aplique las 2 veces y fui aprovado. Es una plataforma bien completa pero no me gustó mucho la manera de interactuar dentro de los cursos.

This platform has a number of courses endorsed by recognized universities, you have the possibility to pay for the certification or apply for a scholarship that covers that cost and get it for free. I applied both times and was approved. It is a very complete platform but I did not like the way of interacting within the courses.
2 - FreeCodeCamp: Hace mucho que ingresé aquí, pero no le he puesto mucho empeño (aunque no he culminado ninguna ruta ahí, si he estudiado par de cosas).

El aprendizaje es muy práctico y de repeticiones. Cumple con la regla de contar con una ruta de aprendizaje por área y también las certificaciones gratuitas.

3 - OpenBootcamp: Una de las más completas que he encontrado hasta ahora con miras a ser un bootcamp en línea muy completo. Acá ya he podido obtener 2 certificaciones:

Esta plataforma cuenta con un flujo que va desde:
La fase de incubación: Donde aprendes lo necesario siguiendo una ruta de aprendizaje.
Fase de aceleración y Fase laboral: en estas fases pretenden ayudarte a conseguir tu primer empleo luego de estar preparado como desarrollador.

This platform has a flow that goes from:
- The incubation phase: where you learn what you need following a learning path.
- Acceleration phase and work phase: these phases are intended to help you get your first job after being prepared as a developer.
Una de las cosas que tiene esta plataforma es la opción de certificar conocimientos. No necesitas culminar un curso para optar a las certificaciones, si cuentas con experiencia puedes hacer la prueba.
Otra característica interesante es que dentro de la ruta puedes ir a tu gusto seleccionando los temas a estudiar (aunque el plan correcto sería seguir todo desde 0). Yo como quería acelerar un poco el proceso me fui directo a aprender ReactJS, ya luego poco a poco voy a ir viendo el resto de cursos dentro de la ruta que seleccione FRONT-END REACTJS

One of the things that this platform has is the option to certify knowledge. You do not need to complete a course to qualify for certification, if you have experience you can take the test.
Another interesting feature is that within the path you can go as you like selecting the topics to study (although the correct plan would be to follow everything from 0). I wanted to accelerate the process a little bit, so I went straight to learn ReactJS, and then little by little I will see the rest of the courses within the path I selected FRONT-END REACTJS.
Dentro de cada curso puedes ver sesiones pre-grabadas en las que van profundizando en cada tema para luego solicitar la entrega de ejercicios para validar lo aprendido.

Within each course you can watch pre-recorded sessions in which they go deeper into each topic and then request the delivery of exercises to validate what you have learned.

Espero que mi experiencia le sirva a personas que desean iniciar alguna formación en IT o cualquier área (en el caso de coursera puedes encontrar cursos de casi todas las carreras actuales).
