Hello Hivers,
I just signed up for hive and doing my first post. Sorry this isn't a warm and fuzzy post but just want to share my frustration of signing up to hive for the first time. Note that I fully understand blockchain private and public keys and such. I signed up through https://ecency.com/
Too many keys and passwords. Hive has four private/public keys AND a password....ridiculous.
WIF should be wtf. Login says to use password or WIF. Which of the 4 keys or password it's not explained. What is WIF and how do I know if any of my 5 pw keys are a WIF?
HiveAuth. What is it, how does a new user know if they have it?
Wrong private key. I entered my memo or posting key, but of course that wasn't good enough as I needed my active key. How the hell is a new user supposed to know.
The hive signup process is the WORST experience I've ever had for a website even though I understand blockchain and keys. I really can't imagine new users wanting to go through this process.
Mark
Yeah this is a valid concern, I'm in the process to invite someone to Hive but the sign up process is critical to have a good first experience with this blockchain. Hive is great IMO but this is one of its clear drawbacks.

This will help other Hivers get to know you and be comfortable supporting your works here.
It's also best to subscribe to Communities you like and share your blogs there to have a wider range of audience. Or you can check out the Communities Incubation Program.
Also, letting you know since content on the Hive platform is monetized, using other people’s ideas or images could be considered as an offense and which is also viewed in a serious light on the blockchain. Here is a useful collection of resources about how plagiarism and abuse is viewed and handled on Hive.
