RE: The Hive Watch ⌚️// A Real World Use Case for Hive: On-Chain Authentication

in #hive8 days ago (edited)

The price will be sub 1000 USD. How low I can go Ill determine based on demand.
Basically the goal is to make it competitive at my specs with other watches in the same range while being able to develop the tech.
I wanted to make something thats entry to mid luxury and would basically last forever.

I'm tempted to get one just because of how cool the watch face looks!

Yeah. The dial is really the star of the show. Most diver watches look almost exactly the same, why I went with a dressy diver aesthetic. Embossed asanoah hexagonal pattern, Red fume, unique hexagonal hourmarks. On the video the hourmarks arent added yet obviously.
All design cues are supposed to tell a story. Obviously its blockchain related. Even the snowflake/square hands play into that.
Nothing is random.

Lume shot. Glows in dark. :)

Also, do you have any sort of a notification list set up?

Not yet. There will definitely be one once the site is up and proper photos and promos. Its important for the kickstarter algo that I get a good early start which is why there wont be anyone on Hive that wont know this is happening once i start promoting. 😅

Thanks for replying so quickly!

Yeah, I'm not normally a watch guy, but I'd make an exception for this! 😁

I have this post bookmarked. I look forward to updates and when the Kickstarter goes live!

I wasnt a big watch guy either before I started doing research for this. Owned a few, but thats it. Its easy to get obsessed once you get into it.

Its quite unique hobby for a subset of the population thats generally pretty wealthy, one of the reason why getting the Hive name inside this particular market might be valuable to us. Those are the people we should be targeting as potential investors.

I agree. I think the more use cases we can create for HIVE the better.

I forgot to ask, is the glass going to be standard size so it's easy to replace if it gets scratched or breaks?

The glass used is Sapphire crystal. Its 9 out of 10 on the Mohs hardness scale. So its incredibly unlikely it will scratch unless you run diamonds over it. 😅

Ooh, excellent choice!

I have some flashlights built with that and none of them have noticeably scratched even after being dropped on concrete and in gravel. 😁

Well, I wouldn't recommend you drop the watch in gravel but it should be fine even if you do. hahaha

!LOL I wouldn't do it deliberately at least 😆
