What do you think the price of HIVE will be?

in #hive5 years ago (edited)

With steem set to hardfork in less than 24 hours, what do you think the price of HIVE will end up being?

I am sure the price will be very volatile depending on many factors, including (but not limited to) the number of exchanges that ultimately decide to list HIVE.

That being said though, lets play a game, what do you think the price of HIVE will peak at within the first week of being live?

Do you think it will be sub penny, dollars, or somewhere in between?

It could happen on the first day or the 7th day, but let me know in the comments below what you think the peak price will be for HIVE within the first week of trading.

Once I see a few guesses, I will update with my opinion as well.

*Edit Based upon what I have seen in the steem markets, I would say that $.10-$.20 seems to be what the market is pricing in as steem went from around $.12 to around $.30 since the hardfork was announced.

Stay informed my friends.

Sort:

A year after launch it will be $1.00USD

There will be the initial dumping and buying from both pro-Hive and those pro-steem.

Then there will be a time when the team figures out how to work together. Decentralization means lots of heads and sometimes lots of heads butt (lol) together.

Highs and lows will happen. We are a catty group, so we will scratch at each other some.

Downvotes and upvotes and worth will be figured out.

Migration of dapps will happen slowly, each migration bringing more value to The Hive. Whether it be because they don't like what is left of steem or because they will want the user base of hives, but they will eventually come.

We will work as a community to get more exchanges. And perhaps some exchanges will want the advertisement of "really" rooting for decentralization.

And slowly things will creep up.

Also, as more of the economy has to stay home. It will make sense for more people to blog for $$ and hive will have lots and lots of individuals marketing and bringing in their friends. Except it won't be the promise of earning thousands, it will be the promise of getting small rewards for a coffee cup or two to share your thoughts, and that will definitely raise its value slowly.

Or maybe the opportunity to start your blog without having to pay for a host and the promise of the blockchain storing all your work for "free."

Yes. $1.00 in one year.

I suspect it will be higher than the price of Steem.

That would be interesting. It's rare that a fork is more valuable than the original. Though with less supply, the price could theoretically be higher while still being less "valuable". On top of that, I don't think this will be akin to most forks...

Looks like the market is pricing Hive around $0.18 already, since Steem went from $0.12 to $0.30 after the announcement of the Hive 1/1 airdrop.

I'm going with 15 cents

$0.22 sinking very quickly to $0.03 :0D

5 cents to 30 cents

Tricky one to predict.... It's probably going to fluctuate a lot.

I can't see people wanting to buy that much at above .20

And I imagine a lot people would be happy to sell even around the 0.10 mark.

So somewhere between those two.

Ultimately it will be determined by when Justin wants to dump on us, his HIVE that is. I can't imagine him wanting to buy more, but I'm sure blocktrades etc. will have limit buys in place to prevent it going below a certain level, maybe around the 3 cents mark like Boom mentioned,

But this is all intuition, so I dunno!

Well there's still a lot of steem powered up, so it will take some weeks for it to take the prices currently steem is at. It's going to be difficult. But I expect money coming from outside of steem environment (just people looking an opportunity to make money, as we've seen with the recent pump). So it will surely be below 0.10 cents, how low? who knows.

The price of the hive must be similar to the STEEM price.
I'm going with 23 cents.

I suspect around 0,20 $, but it is very tricky, could be more, especially if people dump their Steem for Hive buying

In the adaptation of the novel by O. Henry - The Trust That Went Bust, there is a phrase, the lead from which this gold is made is worth more!
If the original, it turns out, is a lead ingot, and, in the copy, there will be at least a drop of gold, then a copy can be more expensive.
At a minimum, this gold is community.

About 1 dollar

Close to a dollar if big exchanges list before settling to around 10 cents if no big exchange lists I think it will be a third of that. When exactly does it go live?

Tomorrow morning at 10 AM EST

Nice thanks just saw the countdown on the hive.io sight right after I asked.

1 $ ✌️

If a large part of the community decide to power down their STEEM and buy HIVE, I think over the next 13 weeks the price could gradually move up as STEEM goes down. For now it's anybody's guess, but I'd say $0.15 is a good starting point to move up from. If we get a lot of HIVE dumping, then we'll be able to buy HIVE at a good price.

5 USD within 1 year.

I think it will be 7, it's a lucky number... A lot of people will stay using Steemit, because it takes time for Hive to build own userbase, not just same people that has posted low-quality junk on Steemit to hoard coins and reputation.

Hive will be less than $0.01 . But it will rise with time

10 to 20 cent

Any reasons to base your guess off of?

I wish it to be 10 $, but it can't happen so soon, Reason is simple, people consider it as steem and we know steem value remain between 10 to 20 cent.

True, though it should have roughly 25% less supply and without the overhang of that stake being sold on the weekly.

Yes, It will impact the price in the long run, when the demand will be increased, And in the start there will be not much demand.
