Hi Everyone,
Hope you're well and pushing through the difficult quarantine situation (if you're in an affected area) in a way that works best for your and your family.
It's been exciting to see the community response to the takeover has lead to the creation of a whole new blockchain and platform. Things went downhill so fast, it was hard for me to keep up with. I never would've guess that this would be the end result of the situation and I'm totally amazed that it's all happened so quickly and elegantly.
While like many others, I'm sad to see the old system fall by the wayside. I'm way more excited though to see what this new one can evolve into and what the community can create; now free of mismanagement and neglect. The unrestrained creative potential of the people on here will continue to innovate and break the boundaries of what social media and blockchain can do. I'm proud to be a part of that!
Thanks to all the community witnesses and leaders, who fought the corruption, kept the dream alive and made Hive happen.
Despite the rocky situation we're all dealing with, this will be an another incredible year for cryptos and blockchain.
Looking forward to getting to know you all over again.
Ah glad you've made the transition. Missed this post when you made it.
A bit sad, but really I just view Hive as the legitimate continuation of Steem, so it's more of just a change in name than a loss. And the history pre-fork is all the same. But post-fork I'm excited for the brighter and more decentralized future on Hive.
Agreed and I'm excited as well. I don't know what the future holds as far as meetups, but I'm finding it hard to think of changing our group name to #HivePhilly... #SteemPhilly always gave me a sense of pride. We'll figure it out in time whenever things look like they maybe getting back to normal (hopefully by summer). But it's gonna take me a while longer to accept. Lol. Hope you and @trang are doing well good sir.
I think you'll get used to #HivePhilly. While different in name, it's the spirit that counts.

Interestingly the @hivephilly account was registered in by @steemmonsters.Not sure if its a Splinterlands player account or perhaps you or @yabapmatt registered the name for the meetup?
Oh, cool. Must've been Matt. I've been meaning to get in touch with him about the meetup, so I guess he was already thinking about it. We'll have to do something soon the lock down lets up.
