RE: A little introspective about hive!

in #hivelast month

I have seen plenty of posts that were viral until a whale stepped in. The visibility in the "Trending" feed was completely dictated by the pending rewards. This is what led to the hard fork of Blurt. You might find some of those posts with discussion about this topic on @drutter . I might see if I can dig up some more references for you.

If you think about 10 years time... who do you think right now, will still be with at least 1k transactions per second on chain?

That's the thing... other than that, you are just loosing time (in my view, and I have lost a lot of time with MANY other chains...), because technology by then will be SO much more advanced, that it would be worthless...

Obviously, I am not a king... anyone can do whatever they want... and that's fine...

This is the way, of the decentralized way 😎

This does not mean I am stuck, just means, "until proven otherwise"... thing.

HIVE has a lot going for it. The split from STEEM included some improvements that are just now being realized with SPK, I hear. I believe the foundation is strong. I don't mind letting stakeholders tend the financial value of posts with downvotes. I think a user option to put in their own weights should be added. If a post is really popular enough then the multitude could outvote a whale or two. But when you can tamp down visibility by down-voting it, people don't have the choice to upvote if they only can use the trending feed to see what's hot.
