RE: Justing testing please ignore!

Here's a longer comment, because I'm not allowed to post for some reason. I'm getting the error "Missing Posting Authority edb", but I'd expect the same authority to apply to posts and comments. Update: the problem was that I'm not allowed to post while changing the reward settings on the posting page.

This is not financial advice

I didn't get around to any trading yet, besides selling my liquid Steem for SBD, but it's fun to look at the price.

Steem lost about a third of its value today:

If Steem drops from 30 cents to 20 cents, does that mean Hive will be worth 10 cents? No, we can expect the combined value to be more because of the buzz around the chain split.

Currently there's a huge spread between bids and asks on Ionomy, the only exchange where Hive is traded so far, while there's very little supply.

As I'm writing this, the Steem price is 3142 satoshis according to @coingecko. That's within the spread for Hive (2600 to 4999 sats), so we're around the same level.

In the short term, we can expect wild swings as a result of dumping from both sides. Steem might do well financially for a few months, since it's attracting people who are motivated by money. But I hope Hive will eventually do better, because the platform is more useful and more people will be using it.

Ah we can agree to agree, you're factoring in the buzz and hype, which fair enough can do CRAZY things to the price!

I was thinking what happens when all the dust dies down and we're back to just Hive, which is a handful of people getting peanuts for posting reasonable content, and a few games... then it'll probably settle back to 1000 statoshis,

Maybe!

TBH I've learnt my predictions, like most crypto analysts (which I'm not) are worth shit - but this time I'm just going to put in my crazy limit buys and sells for HIVE and just leave them there!

And I'm probably going to hold most of my HIVE anyway!
