Her spokeswoman Stephanie Dujarric said in a statement on behalf of the UN Secretary-General on the latest developments in Myanmar.
The statement said the UN Secretary-General strongly condemned the detention of Myanmar's state councilor Aung San Suu Kyi, President Win Mint and other political leaders ahead of the new parliament.
"The events in Myanmar are a serious blow to the country's democratic reforms," the statement said.
