In response to many conversations we've witnessed across this platform and the reality of the inner workings of this blockchain, we have decided to change the way we interact with Hive.
We were not even aware of the existence of Hive until we sought outlets for our content apart from YouTube. This search brought us to 3speak, and even after setting up our account on 3speak, we didn't realize it was built on a blockchain with social media-like features that rewarded authors in cryptocurrency. Because of this, we had no illusions of generating income through activity on Hive from the start, and after some time researching and observing how rewards are generated on Hive, we have serious reservations about the prospect of Hive being any more rewarding than the platform we were trying to hedge our bets against.
We will continue to upload our content to 3speak in an attempt to improve our reach and gain viewership; however, we believe it is in our best interest to relinquish any rewards generated through post authorship to those who can better utilize them. Heretofore, we will be setting @threespeak and @hiveonboard as the beneficiaries of our author rewards at 25% and 10% respectively with the remainder being donated to the DHF, indefinitely.
