I published this article five days ago, but mistakenly I posted into wrong community OnChainArt and had to change the content to another one because it didn't match the community rules. And today I noticed that Peakd made a post with the presentation of bee badges, and that's cool, but and now my post doesn't seem to make sense anymore. And I thought: "eh, why didn't I post earlier, considering that I've got this idea two months ago and these pictures were created even at that time and were waiting for my inspiration for describing"๐คฃ
However, but maybe as long as there are still no badges update on Hive.blog and there are fish swimming in the hive๐, I thought I might as well post it because it's just a shame to leave this post to rot in drafts and I really wanted to share my pictures.
So Introduction: Pocking around Hive.blog, I noticed such a strange inconsistency a long time ago, and maybe many of you also noticed such a discrepancy, after we all moved to Hive from Steemit, of course, the name changed, but some nuances still remained unchanged on platform , namely the statuses of the participants. I thought why, living already in a hive, and being bees, we still have the status of fish (plankton, whale, dolphin etc.), this confuses me a little. And I wondered if it would be possible not to much difficult to update these statuses to something more native. Because it seems to me that it would be more logical and look more harmonious. I don't know if you have the same thoughts, but I decided to share this idea, suddenly the creators and managers will take it into account and have the inspiration to think in the direction of such changes.

First I need apply to @hivebuzz about this, don't judge too harshly๐ What do you think about this idea? And of course my dear friend @arcange what do you think about my creations? Does it have a chance for living?๐๐
So I just wanted to play around with AI and created a lot of somewhat original and funny updated status variants for the member statuses ladder on this platform. And it seems to me that it turned out quite interesting and not bad. I first created the AI images and later also edited them a bit to give them a more cartoony painted version in PicsArt, and also removed the background. Also about platforms and the background all these I created by taking templates from the original Hivebuzz trapezoids from previous fish badges. I hope they won't judge me for credits๐๐ป
And I edit, sketched, added lines and ribbons, I did everything in PicsArt.

I think term "whale" was older than just our legacy platform, apparently it was used in poker communities, and then in cryptocurrency related communities (along with other beings to represent different scale).
Anyway, cool images. But I think pseudo bee looks the cutest and I don't know how anyone could prefer to be a wasp instead? ;-)
Whether we like icons at peakd (FYI @asgarth) or at hivebuzz (FYI @arcange) or elsewhere ;-) (FYI @mahdiyari) I'd love to see fully decentralized badges being implemented platform wise :-)
Well, the "badges" on peakd are pretty open already.
We use standard Hive accounts and standard follow operations: https://peakd.com/@badge-500505/following
And we have a simple open source script to manage them: https://gitlab.com/peakd/peak-badges-automation/-/blob/main/src/badges/badge-500505.ts
PLus we use HafSQL by @mahdiyari to collect account balances
Not sure what you have in mind to be more "open and decentralized" than that.
Maybe we could integrate that somehow into HafSQL at some point. I'll add it to my list.
Totally.
But I think it's still good to have the badge accounts to be regular Hive accounts. For example you can see a feed with all posts by accounts with 1+ million HP here ๐

Absolutely, using existing system of follows is great, once hivemind can do that with better API it would be even more straightforward to use on frontends.
So I guess you are doing it that way + using scripts to handle dynamic badges (like based on accounts or given actions on blockchain, i.e. for disabled witnesses)?
Yes, exactly
hahah, well it seems that in the system of issuing statuses there is no option to freely choose a character, there it is provided according to amount of Hivepower ๐ I always wanted to be a whale for example ๐
I think I know that story ;-)
isn't it cool to have such power and such weight in direct relation๐
Dear @bugavi, I appreciate the creativity and suggestion.
The idea of โโreplacing users' level symbols with an ecosystem closer to the "hive" metaphor is not new. We thought about it ourselves when the community forked Steem to create Hive, and when we launched the HiveBuzz project.
We have kept the marine ecosystem because it is well known in the crypto world, especially the concept of whales. It better represents the weight of an account according to the amount of assets it owns. The bee world is more function-oriented. That's why it wasn't chosen.
I hope this bit of history will help you better understand the current dichotomy.
I understand, well, I'm still not very knowledgeable in the depths of the crypto world and of course you know more better what's perceiving there, and your hivebuzz system is great, I like getting updates on different achievements๐,
thank you for the warm feedback, friend ๐
You're welcome ๐น
Congratulations @bugavi! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)
Your next payout target is 18000 HP.
The unit is Hive Power equivalent because post and comment rewards can be split into HP and HBD
You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking
