especially as so many people seemed to know me.
I have a feeling that wouldn't be the case for me if I were to attend. So many more people on the platform now than there was back then! I am likely not attending though. September is a pretty bad month for me as it is the first couple weeks of school and I need to be on hand for the staff and students. I hope I get the chance to attend one of the festivals some day though. How many hours are you looking at in terms of travel time?
I think a fair few people would know who you are as you are so active. I got there by commenting a lot.
I may need to leave home around 6am to be in Amsterdam about 3pm (an hour ahead of UK), so maybe 8 hours. Not too bad really. There will be some waiting around for checking in. Would not be much quicker if I flew as you still have to wait around and then connect at each end.
No, 8 hours isn't as bad as I would have thought. Does the train run under the water then? I don't know all the ins and outs of getting from England over to the rest of Europe.
The train goes through the Channel Tunnel. I've been through it once before with a car on a train, but this is a normal passenger train that links up with the rest of Europe.
Gotcha. I ended up Googling it and I understand now. That seems like a long time to be in a tunnel!
