Hello Fellow Hivers!
Hope all of you are doing well an enjoying your weekend with your family and friends.
This is @affliction here back again with a new Splinterlands post and this week our post will be featuring the rule set Equalizer
If you are not sure what Splinterlands is, make sure to give this articles a read and at the end you will find some information to get started with the game.
ABOUT THE RULE SET:
The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
All Splinterlands monster has 2 primary defensive stats:
- Armor
- Health
Now armor is a defensive stat to counter specifically melee and range attackers unless the monster has armor with the Void Armor ability.
Health on the other hand is a defensive stat that counter any form of attack.
Therefore we can easily conclude that health is the best defensive stat a monster can have.
Now, usually the tank monsters have higher health and the main damage dealer are comparatively low on hp to create a balance in the game.
Our this week's rule set however, equalizes the health of all the monsters which means high durability of each monster.
BATTLE RULES :
- Mana Cap : 14
- Rule sets :
Little League: Only Monsters & Summoners that cost 4 Mana or less may be used in battles.
Lost Magic: Monsters with Magic attack may not be used in battles.
Equalizer: The initial Health of all Monsters is equal to that of the Monster on either team with the highest base Health.
- Available Splinters :
Fire
Water
Earth
THE LINE UP :
Position | Card | Mana | Level | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Summoner | 4 | 6 | Our choice of summoner for the battle was a level 6 Felya Frendul, the most popular Chaos Legion summoner from the water splinter that gives +1 to armor and +1 to speed to all allies. | |
Position 1 | 1 | 3 | In the first position, we are playing a level 3 gold foil Hardy Stonefish, the 1 mana card with 1 melee damage, 1 speed, 1 armor and 2 hp. This one is a perfect tank because of the Equalizer rule set with such a low mana battle. | |
Position 2 | 0 | 1 | In the second position, we are playing a level 1 Torrent Fiend which costs 0 mana and would fit perfectly in the role of a meat shield. The card is having 1 melee damage, 2 speed and 1 hp as the base stats. | |
Position 3 | 3 | 5 | In the third position of our line up, we are playing a level 5 Uraeus, the famous neural reward card with Sneak and Poison abilities. For mere 3 mana, this is an amazing card. | |
Position 4 | 2 | 4 | In the next position, we are playing a 2 mana ranged card from the Chaos Legion set, Igor Darkspear. The card comes with 2 ranged damage, 3 speed and 4 hp along with the useful Stun ability. | |
Position 5 | 3 | 8 | Next, in the third position, we decided to play a level 8 Pelacor Bandit, the 3 mana reward card with 3 melee damage, 6 speed and 4 hp with Sneak and Flying abilities. | |
Position 6 | 1 | 3 | In the last position of our line up, with the last mana remaining, we are playing a level 3 gold foil Chaos Agent, the Chaos Legion neutral card with 2 speed and 2 hp. Though the card does not have any attack, the Dodge ability makes it the perfect Sneak protector in most battles. |
THE OPPONENT LINE UP :
Position | Card | Mana | Level | Description |
---|---|---|---|---|
Summoner | 4 | 4 | Like us, the opponent too chose to play Kelya Frendul as the summoner. However, the opponent will be playing a level 4 copy of the card. | |
Position 1 | 1 | 5 | In the first position, the opponent will be playeing the same tank as ours only a higher level one. We will be facing a level 5 gold foil Hardy Stonefish having 1 melee damage, 2 speed, 1 armor and 2 hp. | |
Position 2 | 0 | 2 | In the second position too, the opponent chose to play the same card as ours only higher level gold foil version of the card. We are talking about a level 2 gold foil Torrent Fiend here with 1 melee damage, 2 speed and 2 hp. | |
Position 3 | 3 | 5 | Next, in the third position, the opponent is playing the card we are playing in the fifth position, a Pelacor Bandit. However, for this the opponent could only play a level 5 gold foil version with 2 melee damage compared to our 3, 5 speed compared to our 6. So we hae got a solid advantage here. | |
Position 4 | 3 | 3 | In the fourth position, we are facing a level 3 gold foil Uraeus. We are also playing this card in the third position of our deck. However, we again got level advantage for the card as we are playing a level 5 copy of the card that comes with 1 more speed compared to theis one's 3 and most importantly at this level the card is missing the Poison ability. | |
Position 5 | 2 | 3 | In the fifth spot, we are facing a level 3 gold foil Igor Darkspear that comes with 2 archery damage, 3 speed and 5 hp. However, this card s missing the Stun ability that our one has. | |
Position 6 | 1 | 5 | The opponent's selection of card for the last position is also same as ours as he decided to play a Chaos Agent as well but a level 5 gold foil one whch has 1 more speed than ours. |
THE HIGHLIGHTS :
- Round 1:
In the first round we see no casualties from either of the teams and the battle was very evenly poised. This was quite expected since both of us were playing similar line ups.
- Round 2:
Similar to the first round, in the second round too, we see no casualties but the hp of the cards seems to go down gradually.
- Round 3:
In this round, we finally see our Uraeus take out the Chaos Agent from the opponent back line to draw the first blood. However, the Pelacor Bandit soon takes the revenge by taking out the haos Agent from our back line. But, the action was not over for us as the Igor Darkspear eliminated the Hardy Stonefish from the opponent front line. Before the round was over, the opponent team's Torrent Fiend took out our Hardy Stonefish as both the teams were down to four monsters.
- Round 4:
In this round we see both the teams fighting a close battle without any eliminations.
- Round 5:
The fifth round started off with our Pelacor Bandit taking out the Igor Darkspear to give us an advantage. Later in the round, our Igor Darkspear takes out the Torrent Fiend and we were able to dominate the round completely.
- Round 6:
In this round, our Uraeus bagged it's second kill of the battle as it was able to take out the opponent team's Uraeus as we get closer to victory.
- Round 7:
In the very first turn of the round our Pelacor Bandit took out the opponent team's Pelacor Bandit to win us the battle and it was an emphatic one to be honest.

STRATEGY:
The first thing that came to my mind while playing the match was playing all 6 monsters which is a must for battles with Equalizer rule set. And since the opponent too played the similar line up, it was down to the level advantage of the monsters from our line up. The main damage dealers for us was Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus attacking the back line and Igor Darkspear attacking the front line and gradually we were able to kill monsters from both front line and back line of the enemy line up.
MVP:
Card | Kills | Contribution |
---|---|---|
2 | Our Igor Darkspear proed to be the MVP of the battle with 2 kills from the front line. Though our Pelacor Bandit and Uraeus too got 2 kills each like Igor Darkspear, the reason we choose this card to be the MVP was because of the fact apart from the kills it contributed heavily with the Stun ability that forced the opponent monsters to iss turns which was absolutely huge since this was a low mana battle and any missed turn helped massively towards the domination. |
