Great rant and I agree with you on most points. We have a great marketing tool on hive and it's the post rewards. When SL was striving people found it without the game needing to do much in terms of marketing. People find money making opportunities by themselves and they don't care if onboarding isn't perfect.

However, I see that a lot of people, especially powerful people, see the reward pool as the reason for low hive prices. In my opinion high post rewards, of which 50% are staked, help to spread hive among people and increase the stability of the network. If people are attracted by nice post rewards, they would create a demand for the token which could maybe counterbalance the supply influx from DHF and HBD interests...
