Introduction

In addition to the nutrition class I gave my daughter a few days ago, I decided to create an art class for the little lady as well. If there's any way to get my daughter interested in something, art is probably the answer. She's so creative and it truly amazes me that she is paying so much attention to what I do when being creative. Sometimes I get totally lost in what I'm doing and don't even know she's watching what I'm doing. Pretty cool though!

Shaping the veggies and fruit

The idea for this class was pretty simple, let's make a healthy composition using paint. I told her she could look at the drawings we've used in the worksheets earlier that day to at least have an example of the vegetable when starting to paint it.
I remember the last time she tried to paint the banana shape, it didn't look to a banana at all. I wanted to check where she was at now. She was excited because she love painting so whenever I tell her let's paint today, she is looking forward to that from the moment I tell her.

Let's start simple

I asked her to first paint an apple, which looked pretty great if you ask me.

The second one was supposed to be a tomato and I helped her making it a bit rounder. There's nothing wrong with helping her, as I can see she's trying to take it all in and remember for the next time.

I asked her which fruit or vegetable we should do next and we decided it was going to be a pear. This was pretty funny to see how she tried making these forms, but it's fine, she's still learning so I showed her how easy we can correct something when using water coloring paint. Adding a bit of light and darker spots and don't worry about some flaws.

The first banana went surprisingly well compared to the last time I asked her to paint one! We used real bananas as an example for this one, and therefore I thought maybe adding a second one would be fun, that turned out a bit harder because of the lines I drew on the paper. I think she still nailed it!

The left one is supposed to look like lettuce. I have to admit, that that's most of my doing as she didn't know how to paint the leaves. I showed her how I'd do it and I'm curious if she remembers this next time.

Almost done!

The veggie on the top left probably looks more like a pumpkin than a paprika, and I wonder if anyone would recognize the "muffin" on the right that's supposed to be an avocado, but keep in mind that we didn't mix any colors today and just used the basic colors in the box.

The peas on the other hand, she added them herself, quite smart as I didn't even mention peas!

I said it's done, let's add some colored lettering to it, so I wrote "Healthy". She was very proud of herself, and so am I! I even thought about NFT-ing it on nftshowroom lol. Just for fun for her later, but I will need a better picture for that first.

The end result:

I can't wait for the next art class, it was a lot of fun!
Hopefully, you enjoyed this as much as we did!

Thanks for stopping by!

Such a clever idea to focus on what they really love and are interested in doing, and teach from that angle. She's very talented @thisismylife. I'm sure her enthusiasm helps you too
