RE: Our Homeschooling Journey: Week 1 Down, 35 Weeks More to Go

in Home Edders2 years ago

This was a great read. We started homeschooling last year, after a really tough year of remote kindergarten... Homeschooling was daunting, at first, but once we got into it we realized the kids had way more free time to play and explore!
I think the hardest part is that there are so many learning styles, and so many curriculums per learning styles. Once you get past that it gets much easier. We have yet to find many local homeschool parents. The ones we do find seem to have little interest in connecting. In time, this will change.

There is indeed lots of learning and teaching styles and methods to choose from in homeschooling. It's a good thing we found one that best fits our parenting style.

There are homeschoolers that prefer doing things by themselves. But it's always much better to find the tribe that shares the same values as you. It takes a village to raise a child as they say. Hope you find local homeschool families you can connect with.
