Seashell Fish Crafts for Toddlers and Preschoolers🐠🐠

in Home Edders3 years ago

Hey guys!

How are you friends?
I was offline for such a long time! Our summer was so full and yet, we had a relaxing time. We've been traveling quite often this summer and I was focusing spending time with my toddler and without knowing, its been four months since my last post.

I'm sharing this fun and easy activity we've made a couple weeks ago, when we've got back home from the sea. We've picked up a lot of seashells from the beach and this is how we used some of them 🐚🐠🍥

For this activity you need:

  • cardboard
  • seashells
  • water colors
  • playdough

This activity is so simple! My toddler loves to paint thats why he enjoyed this tones! After you paint some seasheels, leave them to dry. Meanwhile, you can eather print a fish outline or draw one on cardboard or paper.
Fill in some playdough

This fun activity can be made by toddlers or preschoolers. Kids love playdough, they love to paint and play with colors!

It's so easy to make and yet, it offers so much: Sensorial Activity, Painting and Fine Motor Skills development all in one!

This is great one to develop:

  • fine motor skills
  • dexterity
  • hand-eye coordination
  • creativity
  • patience, attention and concentration.

These photos were taken on the beach this year, I'll share more of our trip to the Black Sea in one of my next posts!

Have a great day!

Love, missdeli 💖

The painted seashells make great fish scales :D

Have you read the Rainbow Fish books?

No, I did not. I didnt even know about them. Is it a good book?

I found it online in Romania at about $12 and another one called The Rainbow Fish: You can't win them all at $22. Are they worthy?

I just checked my bookshelf to see if we had a copy so I could tell you my opinion as an adult about whether I thought it was good or not but...apparently we don't have it (either that or it's on another bookshelf, I have a lot of cleaning and sorting that I'm putting off because it wastes valuable art time x_x).

So all I can tell you is that I remember enjoying the original Rainbow Fish a lot when I was a kid, even though I can only remember the overall gist of the story XD and I didn't know there were more books but that wouldn't surprise me :) The original is basically about sharing.

Thank you for the reply! :X and for taking your time to help me out! :x:x I really appreciate it!

I will take a look, see what I can find here! :X

Oh I really love love love this idea! So cool and creative!
I wish we had a sea here, to hunt for shells but we don't. I will keep an eye out if we find any, as this truly is a fun craft!

Thank you for sharing!

Hey! I dont have the sea near me as well, but we go every year once or twice at the sea. :X:X
Maybe you can find some in supermarkets or deco store.

Hugs from Romania

Such beautiful colors! Added to playdough, this activity will surely captivate our little ones.

Glad you had a great summer.

Thank you @arrliinn ! I was wondering what other activities like this can we do and instead of fish make something else? Any ideas? :X:x

Wow, I must say I am impressed with the color combination that you used on the shells, it is so beautiful.

Thank you @afterglow! I love the colors as well!

You're welcome (^_^)

Fun activity and colorful. Even I’m not a kid, I would to play with shells :)

Ditto! I'm the same with all of the activities MissDeli does for her little one. 🤣

Ohh you're so kind! Thank you 💖

Thank you darling! My boy was enjoying this too! And to be honest, I did too! :)))) :X:X

This is such a great idea! I love it! I may have to steal this when I do the oceans theme week with my toddler!

Oohh I love how that sounds! I mean the "theme week".
I always wanted to organize my son's activities weekly, but somehow I didnt. It's on my list to try it asap.
I already started to amke a list for the themes but I just did that. How are you doing this? Is it hard for you to organize all the activities around a theme?
Thank you :X:X

I am only just attempting this for the first time with a preschooler but so far I actually find that the themes work really well for how my brain works! I generally choose the theme and the concepts or skills I want and then work out the activities from there. I use a lot of pinterest ideas!

Hey! Thanks for the response! I really hope I can introduce this soon enough! I think it will work really good for us and I feel that it's definetly YES for my brain as well! :))
I need to be organized, else I can't be efficient!

Ho i love this ideaaaa!!!! I love picking up shells with kids at the beach that is a nice way to use our Tresors from the beach. It makes me think of the rainbow fish book it was my favourite book as a child it will be a nice way to extend this activity with the book

Thank you 💙 I also love picking up shells on the beach! I adore it actually!
@ryivhnn also mentioned about the book? Is it a beautiful book? I didnt hear of it until now.

Yes it is a lovely boom they may be a movie as well it is about sharing it is an old book but beautiful:)

Ohh ok. I'll take a look myself! :)
