Fall Activities. Art at home with Kids 🍂🍁✂️🎨🖌

We have here in Romania what I call it a perfect day in Autumn: sunny, bright sky, colorful landscape, the wind blows slowly, definitely feeling that Sun is still warm ☀️🍂🍁.

I love spending time outside these days, and this is what we actually did in the last couple of weeks. But more on this, I will tell you about it other time. (We didnt have what I would consider a good September because Caleb wasnt feeling well and thhat kind of messed us up.)

Anyways, if you need some ideas to work at home with your kids and create fun and colorful Fall Art, I have some!And maybe they're useful for you too.

Autumn Tree

In general, when I'm thinking what to work with my son, I usually think of these three: theme, mood and method.

So right here, Caleb was in mood to work with his art droppers; and because it was Fall, I thought to make this activity one that can be framed as a Fall themed activity.

Also, I promised him to use these lovely cotton balls a few days prior to this day and when he said he wants to use his droppers, I didnt have other idea than matching the droppers with the cotton white balls.

And so, our Autumn Tree was born. Very colorful and so fun to do it!

Caleb was all over the moon because it was a long time since he used the droppers to create something!

I love it when kids find again the joy and enthusiasm to play with old toys/resources they used to like before.
(talking about this, now when I'm sorting and cleaning our old baby toys, Caleb grabbed some and played with them for a bit! and it felt so cute and yet, so strange, to see him playing with toys and puzzles he used to enjoy at one or two yrs old. It's kind of a weird feeling mixed with a lot of emotions, but mosyly nostalgia)

In case you wonder what's in the tiny glass jars, we used water mixed with food coloring. The whole idea is to create a beautiful Tree in Autumn, when its leaves are perfectly colored in red, yellow, orange or brown.

Little Colorful Fall Pumpkins

This activity is the same as first one.
I just replaced the cotton balls with cotton diskettes, those make up removers.

We dont celebrate Halloween but I thought to talk about the pumpkins which are symbols for Halloween. In the end, it's a cultural thing and kids need to know things so they can choose theirself.

The droppers help with fine motor skills,dexterity and hand eye coordination. Plus, imagination and creativity skills.

Funny Cones Shaking

This one was really fun, even for me.
Shaking those colorful cones was a bit engaging because you need to be careful not to shake it too hard so they dont fall of the box.

We wanted to create colorful paper to use it for our handamde cards as a background.
You need one box, white paper, a few cones and acrylic paint.

You could insert the cones directly in the paint container or use a paint palette, as we did. I think you can control better the paint quantity this way and not use too much of a color.

Playdough Fall Tree

We went outsife and picked up a tree branch wich later we decorated with playdough leaves.

Again, fine motor skills were at work and also I loved this one because we used a nature element. And we remembered how beautiful we can use the resources we have available to create little things and even toys.

The Little Playdough Tree was kept for more than 1 mounth, next to our Aloe Vera Plant.
