Animal Rescue Activity for Toddlers πŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ–

in Home Edders β€’ 4 years ago

Hey guys,

This activity is really easy to set up. My toddler loved this!

This is a simple fine motor activity with no explanation needed.Β It is perfect for both toddlers and preschoolers.
It's one of the simplest activity to keep little ones busy for a while. We have been doing various animal rescue activities as Caleb loves to rescue his fav animals.

Basically they have to peel off the tape from the surface and save their little victims who are in danger..!! πŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ– We can tell them stories and connect with the activity..!!That how we can save animals and always love them😍

Set-up: πŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ–
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Secure animal figurines with painter’s tape on a tray (horizontal) or the wall (vertical)
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Sit back and enjoy the show 😊 or do your stuff till you can :)

What you need:
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Tape - paper/paint tape (Abro tape)
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Vertical/Horizontal surface
πŸ‘‰πŸ½ Toys Figurines (animals, cars, dolls, letters, numbers, shapes, fruits, veggies) πŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ–

You can:
πŸ‘‰πŸ½Call out the sounds each animal make (or put your child to do it, if the kid knows which are they)
πŸ‘‰πŸ½Ask the little one to rescue a particular animal
πŸ‘‰πŸ½Name the animal he/she rescues
πŸ‘‰πŸ½Give simple instructions you feel are appropriate along the way
πŸ‘‰πŸ½Follow the child, they always lead well😊

We can choose a vertical surface to plan this activity! Why vertical surface?? Working on vertical surface is a great means of gross motor skills. That is strengthening the larger muscles (in this case ) arms..!!! Its suprising to learn that well developed gross motor skill can have positive impact on more refined task such as tying shoe lace or putting up buttons.

When operating on the vertical surface you will notice that your kid will use larger motion of arms instead of small motion of hand and wrist.

I didnt knew this before. Our activity is made on a tray, horizontal surface. We did it twice, in this case. Second time, I put more animals cause he was really into Saving these poor Animals! πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ–

Though the setup is simple it's super engaging and children are also practising:

  • Princer grip
  • Gross Motor skills
  • Motor skills
  • Hand eye coordination
  • Problem solving
  • Vocabulary
  • Learning to have patience/perseverence

You can use any surface for eg-:β™‘ Cupboard door β™‘ Side of refrigerator β™‘ Window β™‘ Glass sliding door

Always choose a toy which interest your kido (birds , marine creatures, insects). πŸ˜πŸ„πŸ¦’πŸ–

Choose tape which won't harm your surface incase you are using above mentioned ones.

Ohhh Thank you guys! I really appreciate it!

I love this option, I think I will put it into practice but with some numbers, since it has been my biggest problem with my little one, and I am looking for activities that will make him love numbers.

Ohh that's great! If you do it with your kid, come back and tell me if your child liked the activity:) My son loved this very much and he still does and I like to set it up for him because I know he enjoy it!
yeah...I think this is great to put in in practice using numbers...that's really a good idea!

Good game. Good way to play doctor. I love it.

Yeah....well...this game is not about being a doctor!:D
It's about To rescue the animals from paper tape and developing fine motor skills in young children. :)
Thanks for stopping by though :)

Oh ok, my bad, like animal-rescue Fire Fighter training.

No problem, it happens sometimes!

But Yeah, more like a fire fighter, I guess!

Nice

Ohhhh Thank you!!

I love how simple this is but how much fun it will bring to the child to play with. Who doesn’t like to play with masking tape?Brilliant idea:)

My son really loves this activity, yeah! I think it's getting more & more fun and enjoyable if we use something that they would love to rescue it. For example my little one loves numbers. So he is thrilled to rescue them!!

This is such a simple but cool idea! Thank you for sharing :)

Yes, it is! I might do it again today with my lo! cause its really easy to set up and you can gradually add some more learning opportunities to it!
Thank you and you're welcome!
