And so in an effort to save complete knowledge from the man that was hunting it and then, she swam into the sea hoping he would not follow.
Which he did.

After a few meters in she realised how hopeless the attempt at escape would be, he was gaining on her, stroke for stroke and so in that moment she did the unthinkable, she placed the jewel that held complete knowledge into her mouth and swallowed.

She heard an inhuman scream from behind her as she fell deeper into the sea, the ocean seeming to suck her into its very depths.

The world around her eyes became very dark in the moment and she blacked out.

The lights woke her, she blue streaks of light that flittered across her eyes, when she opened her eyes it was to an ocean of blue, surrounding her.

Shapes glided across the surface of the blue and she started as she realised that she was somehow in a dry cube beneath the ocean, as if the ocean had created a safe room for her to be in, as she ran her hand along the wall it came away wet, the floor was also wet where she touched it and yet she was dry, as were her clothes.

Just then a shape swam past and she looked into the jewel like eye of a whale swimming past and felt all the emotions and thoughts from inside him.

It was at that moment when she stood communing with a whale, in a room beneath the sea that she realised how much the jewel had changed her and how different the world would now be.

What had she done, what could she do now

Mysterious and surreal piece. Nice aquatic setting that feels very peaceful. A joy to read.
