Taking a page from film noir, I created the video using AI images, AI music, and my bare hands. 🐻
I created the narration voiceover in MS Clipchamp. The software gives you several voice options and controls. I wrote the script first, but once I copied it into the video editing software, I had to change it around to get the right voice intonation and rhythm.
The music score is a jazz piece called Shadows in the Night, and I generated it using Udio music software.
I hope you enjoyed the mystery. Thank you for viewing.
Update: If you would like to read the script, I've copied it at the bottom of this post. Keep in mind that the script was formatted for the voiceover, so it's not really in proper fiction form.
A Mystery Call
I don’t know what this dame on the phone didn’t understand. I’m not a detective anymore. Well... technically, I'm still a detective for five more minutes but I'm not taking on any cases. I am closing this chapter for good.
But she doesn’t take no for an answer.
She insists in a quivering voice.
I shake my head with phone in my ear. This wouldn’t end well. Silky voices never do.
Now look, lady, I’m no good okay. My heart is not in the craft.
I’m sick of living in the shadows, following criminals in dark alleys, wrecking my health in shady speakeasies, and getting yelled at by angry housewives.
How many trashcans do I have to go through before I call it quits?
Well, no more, I say.
Today is the day. I’m closing this door behind me, and I’m off to enjoy the beaches of Hawaii.
You want me to meet you?
Where?
I don't think that's a good idea, so it's not going to happen. I have a flight to catch, you see.
...
Noo...
...
I don't think you heard me...
...
I can't meet you...
...
What do you mean you're already here?
Where!?
...
Wait, hold on!
She hangs up, just like that.
Crazy broad.
I look at the clock:
4:49 PM....
...
It's time to go.
I grab my briefcase and closing the door, I turn the key.
Standing outside the door, I look at the stairs that lead down to the lobby. Then I turn my head and glance the other way, at the stairs leading up to the rooftop. Not many people go up, except those who might want to sneak out for a smoke. I don’t smoke, so I've never even been up there.
Which begs the question: How did she know about the rooftop?
I take a step down and stop to look back at the stairs with slanted shadows leading up.
...
Why do men do what they do? That’s just as mysterious as the age old question, what does a woman want?
Is it social conditioning what makes us tick? Maybe. Neurological programming, as the professors would say. Genetics. Or is it something more primal that pushes us onward to the great unknown, danger, and foolishness?

I must say that you excelled with this great work, the music, the setting, the incredible voice-over. An excellent production job from scratch, you excelled my friend.
I can't comment on the content of the story as my English is very limited.😔
Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Excellent Saturday.
Thank you for checking it out. I was wondering if I should post the script. I didn't post it because it is not formatted for publication, it's specifically formatted for the voiceover. I'll update it.
I love this kind of content you make, like a comic book with everything complete, it's excellent!
It's a lot of fun handling different media artifacts. I love experimenting with new tools! :)
I hope soon to have more time... at one time I used to design 3D and I loved it!
3D is awesome, and the design tools are getting better. But you're right, one needs to free up some time to play with them ⏲
And I need a better computer .... right now I'm oil painting .... you'll see in a few hours hahahaha
More computer power is absolutely necessary. I'm looking forward to this supercomputer: https://www.livescience.com/technology/computing/nvidias-mini-desktop-supercomputer-is-1-000-times-more-powerful-than-your-laptop-and-can-fit-in-your-pocket
Wowww it must be expensive hahaha
