Fellow Scholars and Scribes! I bid you welcome to the third annual SCRIBE SPOTLIGHT! π mosh pit ensues π
Each year we take a month to celebrate and commemorate our most diligent and talented authors. πΊ
All quotes in this showcase are from the spotlighted creator's works.
If this were the NBA, I would say our first Spotlit author deserves the Most Improved Player award. I think it's most fitting to start off awards season with one of the most dedicated authors we have. Someone whose craft has only gotten better. Ladies and gents, it is with great pleasure that I bring to you... π₯π₯π₯
π Oluchi31 π
@oluchi31 has been with us for a long while. A diligent Scribe often associated with our Invitationals. Always tackling the hefty challenges associated with our contest with a fresh idea and narrative. πππ
As a Scribe, she is not afraid to experiment. Experimentation is the lifeblood of any creative, and she understands that more than most. I always anticipate her work, as I know it will have a fresh idea. She is also very gracious with other members, spreading the love of writing with others from the community. π
Here's that patented Oluchukwu experimentation at work. I must sleep when others are sleeping is a tension-filled piece that oozes personality. Personality and craft. Not only is the subject matter mature and handled with tact, but the way the story is written proves that our Spotlighted author pulls no punches.
Writing in Second-Person is without a doubt the hardest perspective someone can write from. Not many try it for fear of looking like absolute fools. Huzzah then for authors like @Oluchi31 who push the boundaries of their imagination and skill. Providing us with a tale that is unique and invigorating.
And now for an exert from 'I must sleep when others are sleeping.'
For example, your friend Marvellous who prefers to stay in school during the holidays because she claims she isnβt allowed to rest at home. She once sent a voice note to the friend group chat that she couldnβt stay in the room alone anymore and went home immediately.
Only fitting we jump from one perspective to another. Writing in First-Person is not nearly as hard as what we discussed before. Regardless, capturing someone's personality, and allowing the reader to be fully immersed into someone's perspective, is a very difficult aspect to attain. Well, difficult for some. π
In A dreadful summer, Oluchukwu shows us a miraculous tale filled with hope. What I love most about her writing, especially in this work, is how picky she is with her words. How curt and precise her writing is. Very few wasted words, and very much to the point. @Oluchi31 knows what she wants to achieve, and how to get there most efficiently.
As much as I hated attending summer themed events, there was no way I could miss this. Because it was a summer party organized by the company I work at, for partygoers both far and near, and a means of publicizing the company. It just reminds me of why I hate anything related to summer.
I wanted to start this year's awards season with an author I appreciate and think match the values of our community. Experimentation, creativity, the willingness to try out new things and play around with the canvas that is writing. You are doing yourself a disservice if you haven't given her works a try. Congratulations on an amazing year @Oluchi31. Here's to many more.
Oh my goodnessπ€!!! How do I even describe how I feel after seeing this? I have no idea. One thing I'm sure of is that this is so amazing, wonderful and incredible. To be in the list of scribes for the year is overwhelming.π₯Ί
