Absolutely first rule of combat is never stay in the same position. Make effective use of cover and get off the X. X being wherever you're currently at.

There is no better defense than offense. The house is unknown at this point and the construction means that it is concealment not actual cover.

Closing the distance is important. So is making you use of cover.

Yeah well if there was some more knowns then that would be one thing however since there's really not too much knowledge about the environmental surroundings closing with your opponent a smart idea.
