If one day

Source

I want to tell you, love, in this silent hour,
that if tomorrow you stop loving me,
I will leave your side without reproach,
with a serene soul, with no rancour to weigh me down.
The shadows of time, subtle and soft,
will weave in my chest golden memories,
And though distance may separate us in their robes,
you, you will always be mine, though I am lost.
If one day you decide to give up,
if the flame goes out and the breeze calms down,
there will be no dead tears, there will be no wounding,
for in my essence, your love will be a bulwark.

I really love to read poems that talk about true, genuine and undying love. They really help to warm the heart in this cold and harsh world.
