'Earthing' by Clint Ober introduces readers to the landmark discovery that living in contact with the Earth's natural surface charge - being grounded - naturally discharges and prevents chronic inflammation in the body.
This effect has massive health implications because of the well-established link between chronic inflammation and all chronic diseases, including the diseases of aging and the aging process itself. source
As a personal note, I read this book ten years ago and haven't worn shoes since. While I cannot say with certainty it was this in particular which changed my life, I can say that I have enjoyed my body much more since then and it seems to me that Mother Earth can better guide us when we make consistent contact with her.
On a more physical level I suffered from a knee problem ten years ago which has vastly improved since then, despite doctors' assurances the opposite would happen over time. Again I cannot conclusively attribute this to earthing but I feel sure it is related and I highly recommend this simple practice to everyone. Forget about what other people think. Your optimum health is more important.
It is also worth noting that you can ground yourself at home with basic products.

Love grounding, we started doing that consciously this year and it feels better, although not sure if the results are forced but it’s good to get our bare feet on the ground, be it dirt, grass or sand!
Greetings fellow barefooter! Wonderful you are following this path.
Based on the image above showing blood cells before and after 40mins of grounding it seems clear something positive happens but yes, it is difficult during a lifetime of consistent changes to attribute our successful health pursuits to one thing alone.
