I was called yesterday night about the increment of the birds . I paid #320 per one and I send the money to him and yesterday evening during the celebration of my mom’s birthday the seller called that price of the day old chick has increased from #320 to #450 reason that people have started collecting birds to another festive period and also because of increment in price of feed. Which increase by #130 almost half of I paid for initially.
Though I have already set where they will stay and made more provision for the feeder and drinker they will use because last one I did the feeder and drinker was not enough so I bought more of it.
When they arrived I noticed two out of the birds had already died before I got home but for each carton of birds they put one extra birds and I bought two carton so it still remain 100birds .
They stay at a point and they stay together due to the weather because it was cold here so I release the tarpaulin to prevent the coldness but if the sun comes out I will raise it up so that they will be able to receive the hotness from the sun.
They are not eating for now just small of them are eating but all them are drinking water. But I will keep monitoring them .
N450 per chick? That's a bit expensive, which means by the time your chickens are fully grown, the price will be higher.
This is good. I like how spacious the chicken house is. I hope they all survive. Good luck on this project. 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment and definitely it will be expensive because the chick is expensive including the bag of feed. Last year the one I rear for Christmas it was sold at #420 and a bag of feed is around #7750 till some days to Christmas that it was sold at #8000. Now the feed is sold at #8350 and the chick at #450. Sure it will be costly
#450 for day old. That is how expensive things are. Funniest part is, people don't want to shift ground concerning price when they will atleast consume 18bags in probably 8weeks(1 bag is now #8,300). That is where you will see people coming around with intention to buy bird of 8weeks #2,000. I will be like like seriously? This is business,I am not opening business for Charity. Anyways,wish you best of luck and sorry for the 2 mortalities,you have lost #900 there as we speak, that is business.

WHat a nice move. Its obvious to be a successful farmer, so many things have to be considered one of which is fund, big capital. Its not bad seeing you starting small either, if you are consistent and put your liquid rewards of hive in proper use, i see this growing much bigger.
