Good morning friends. I am glad I could meet up with this week's #iucontest by @indiaundited. I invite you to use the link to be a part of it.
In my culture, there are those kinds of play and games that my girls mainly practiced by the girls. Since our childhood days, we will gather ourselves together as girls and will have fun playing together. Some of those games, I do not know their names. But I usually enjoy them. Even when we were in school, we loved playing those kinds of games. Many of them involve clapping our hands and singing and stamping our legs while playing it. We will be picking each member of the team in turn to lead the rounds as we go on. This game was such an interesting one to me.
I also enjoyed playing hide-and-seek with my friends in those days. We would come out in the moon light before bed time and we would cast a lot. Then the member of the team whom the lot falls on we be the one to search for other members when we have gone into hiding. The person that is seen first will then take turns to search for others.
Another game we play as girls is the ayo. Ayo is our traditional game in Nigeria. It consists of about twelve small holes dug in two rows. Each of the holes will contain four seeds. When the game starts, we will park them from one hole and drop them one each in the other holes. The round continues till the one playing taking the turn to play gets to the empty holes. Harvest is made when the seeds in the holes reach four. After the entire round, the number of seeds one has determines the number of holes she will claim. The game continues till there is an opponent who has no more seeds.
I also love playing board games like the ludo and the checkers. Those ones are played on the board. The ludo has four compartments with four seeds each. Two dices are cast and the outcome is used in counting the steps the seed will take. The first person to move all her seeds to the final destination becomes the winner.
There are several games we all love to play. I am not so much used to computer games. Maybe because I didn't get a smartphone early. But I have always enjoyed playing these indoor games. We usually have them in our house and play them whenever we are free of chores.
