Having some of yours earnings stashed away in case of an emergency is a habit every individual needs to cultivate not because it is fun but because it is important, having an emergency funds kept somewhere will always come in handy especially considering the fact that life can be unpredictable and anything can happen and with a little funds at hands you can start somewhere to deal with every unaware challenges life throws at you before seeking for help from family and friends even though some of us know we have no one out there to offer helping hand when we fall but sometimes life pushes you to the point where it leaves you no choice than to go searching for the help you know will be really hard to come by.
Having an emergency fund should be part of every individual's budget. If you earn daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly, a part of your earnings should be set aside in case of emergencies, not because you are wishing for anything bad to happen but because life is unpredictable and can be very unfair. Those days I felt like having some earnings kept away in case of an emergency was a waste of time until I experienced an illness that almost took my life, and I had no money anywhere. I called everyone I could call asking for help, and no one had some money to lend me, and I had to battle the illness until I was able to raise some money and visit a hospital.
If I had an emergency fund stashed somewhere, I would have gone for treatment, and then maybe if what I had saved up was not enough to see me through, then I would start reaching out for help, but I had nothing to start with and needed help from the start. Imagine having to deal with not being able to breathe properly for over 2 weeks just because I had no emergency funds? All that stress and suffering emergency funds would have saved me from, but I had none, so some of us learned the importance of emergency funds the hard way.
Though lately on this side of the world it is very difficult to be able to do that now because of how bad the country's economy has become, but we just have to manage and keep some away no matter how small.
