Huhm, when the new year comes, almost everyone goes about talking about a new year resolution, a new them, a new system, new plans, new friends, new this and new that. I've some of that set before me too, but much more than all of that, there are some that I have that may seem small, but they are important to help my whatever plans or ambitions.

One of the things I'm prioritizing this year is my health, and I will be prioritizing it like never before. If the health is good and sound that's when I will be able to work towards achieving the goals I've set ahead for the year. Health is one of the things most people do not pay attention too. We always go about saying, "health is wealth" but still we often underrate it. I went through a near death situation. My health really dealt with me, it was then I realized how fragile life is, and how plans can take a pause due to bad health.
So, I won't be procrastinating on when to take a pause, when to go on break, when to sleep, eat, rest and all. I won't be pushing myself to go beyond or overstressing myself or trying to endure things. Life has taught me and I'm really being cautious. There's a big difference between living and surviving. Thanks time when I was fighting for survival is long gone, now's the time to really start to live my life. I want to start doing things that make me happy, stay away from anything that can drain me, laugh freely, distance myself from stress and also stay away from situations and people that would cause me mental, emotional and physical stress.
Also, this year, I won't be running like I'm being chased, I look at the last year and I see how many of my friends are married, I see a lot of them are already doing really well, some are even celebs presently. But I refuse to compare, I'm staying true to my own purpose, I'm sticking with my own timeline and I'm running my own race. The little I'm going is nothing to wave off as well....so, I'm doing very well while still aiming to do better.

It's not as if any magic would happen and help me fix my life overnight, there are a lot of things I'm aiming at achieving, a lot of things that I don't even know how to go about it yet. But this year, I will do my best, I won't keep quiet, I would ask for help when and where needed, I will say yes when needed and no when necessary, I will be patient and I won't live to impress anyone.
So, I will remain consistent, I will keep going, I won't stop, and I will take care of my health and protect it. Because at the end of the day, I'm not a machine, I'm human. Even machines can break down. So, my life and my health first, then everything and anything else can follow.

You are absolutely right about people often chanting the "health is wealth" message but still failing to make it their priority. That is exactly what makes me glad that you have finally decided to pay more attention to your body, giving it exactly what it needs. I'm sure your body will thank you soonest! Rooting for you.
