If My Weekend Was Truly Mine: How I Would Spend It

in Indiaunitedlast month

Sometimes I just sit down and imagine, what if one weekend in my life could actually go exactly how I want it? No stress, no rushing, no pressure, no errands, no wahala from anybody. Just peace and enjoyment in my own way. Because honestly, weekdays can drain somebody. Life is too serious from Monday to Friday, and sometimes it feels like we are just living to survive. So a perfect weekend to me is not even about going to expensive places, it’s about peace of mind.

If I could plan my weekend my own way, first thing is sleep. Yes please. I would sleep like I’m getting paid for it. I remember my parents always telling me, “Rest when you can, because the body is not stone.” That advice didn’t make sense when I was small, but now that adulthood is beating us left and right, I understand sharply. So my Saturday morning will start with no alarm, no rushing, just waking up gently.

After that I would love a slow morning maybe brush, bath, then drink hot tea while listening to soft music or a motivational talk. Nothing too serious. Just something to make me feel human again. Then I would love to watch a movie, probably indian movie , k-drama or a funny Nigerian one, and laugh without thinking of deadlines or bills. Even simple entertainment can be healing sometimes.

In the afternoon I would love to spend time with people who give me peace not crowd, just the ones who truly know me. Real friends or family that make me feel safe. We don’t even need to do anything fancy. Even sitting in the house, talking about life, eating together, and laughing is enough. My perfect weekend must include good food, because food is happiness, abeg.

On Sunday, after church or quiet time, I would use the day to reflect, write something down, plan small for the week, and mostly thank God for life. My parents always teach me that gratefulness brings peace, and I believe it now more than ever. Even if everything is not perfect, we can still choose to appreciate small blessings.

My perfect weekend is not about running away from life it’s about breathing again so I can face life better when Monday comes. And honestly, I think we all deserve that kind of weekend once in a while.

Indeed life between Monday to Friday really is too serious. And even weekends usually seem too short because you can just blink and it's Monday again. So yeah, even I would want to sleep for nearly half the day, just to recharge myself for another stressed-out week coming
