Has Time Changed, or Have We?

This question arises in the heart of every person at some point. When we look at old photographs, reminisce about old memories, or simply reflect on our thoughts, it seems as if everything has changed. But what has truly changed—time, or ourselves?

Time moves at its own pace. It is indifferent to anyone's happiness or sorrow. Days turn into nights, years pass, and seasons change. Time's only function is to flow; stopping is not in its nature. But when we say that "time has changed," perhaps we are actually feeling the change that has occurred within ourselves.

In childhood, life seemed so simple. Happiness was found in little things. Time was the same then, the days were the same, but our emotions, thoughts, and needs were completely different. As we grew older, responsibilities increased, dreams changed, and our perspective on people also shifted. That's why it seems as if time has changed, when in reality, we ourselves have changed.

Sometimes, time forces us to change. Some experiences in life, some pain, and some lessons are such that they don't allow us to remain the same. We become wiser, but also a little quieter. We learn to smile, but not at everything. All these changes are not due to time itself, but rather due to our experiences and circumstances over time.

If we look closely, time only gives us opportunities—to change, to learn, and to grow. What we become depends entirely on us. Therefore, it would be more accurate to say that time doesn't change, but we change with time. And perhaps this change is the most beautiful, yet most difficult truth of life.
